1. Books are for everyone The invention of the printing press By Gustave Gibbs
2. Printing Press The printing press was invented in 1436 by a German named Johannes Gutenberg. Gutenberg was a goldsmith. Before the printing press was invented, monks had to copy everything by hand. Hand written books took months or years to hand print. This made books very expensive.
4. The actual quote from Johannes Gutenberg Johannes Gutenberg "It is a press, certainly, but a press from which shall flow in inexhaustible streams...Through it, God will spread His Word. A spring of truth shall flow from it: like a new star it shall scatter the darkness of ignorance, and cause a light heretofore unknown to shine amongst men" — Johannes Gutenberg This means that the press was not only a machine but now words and books could be made faster and everyone could read them
5. it is important because……. The invention of the printing press is important because it made the production of books easier and faster. Also without books no one will learn how to read or get knowledge.
6. How did it influence our lives today The printing press was the “grandfather” of the printing machine, printer and copy machine.
