  • 1.  Improved our understanding of genetics. His research helped to make organ transplantations possible.
  • 2.  He was the first person to use the term genetics to describe the study of heredity and biological inheritance. Coined the term “Genetics”.
  • 3.  His work cloned frogs laid the foundations for somatic cell nuclear transfer, the application of which led to Dolly the sheep.
  • 4.  Worked out the Structure of Proteins.
  • 5.  “TheFather of Cloning”.
  • 6.  “The Father of Genetics”.
  • 7.  Worked on a project that enabled others to point out that the DNA was the molecule of inheritance.
  • 8.  DNA was a genetic material, an inheritance molecule.
  • 9.  Foundout the shape of the DNA.
  • 10.  He noticed that there is a pattern in the 4 bases: Adenine, Guanine, Cytosine and Thymine. A=T and G=C.
