                                     Mixture
      Pure Substance

                               Homogenous Heterogeneous
    Element Compound

Viscosity
         Definition: A liquids ability to
              flow fast of slowly.

                Which one has
                more viscosity?

The nail polish would have a greater viscosity
because it moves slower than the chocolate milk.

                        4
Conductivity

Definition: An objects ability
to allow electricity though it

Spoon

                                 Oven Mitt
              5
Solution
A solution has a solute and solvent

              + =

Water + Salt = Ocean

Water is the solvent and salt is the solute.

                       6
What is this?

This is the Periodic table invented
  in 1813 to organize different
             elements.

                7
Filtration

       To do the process of
filtration, put the two liquids
  and mix them with water,
   and them pour them into
filter paper that is in a
funnel, and the two fill be
             separated

                          8
Evaporation

    Water + Salt = a evaporation process

If you salt and water is mixed together, then to
separate them, let them sit and the water will
                   evaporate

                         9
Distillation

Distillation- a process that separates the substance
in a solution based on their boiling points.

                        10
Reactivity

The property that describes how readily a
substance combines chemically

Oxygen is a highly reactive element

                      11
Flammability

Materials that can be used as fuel

Such as paper or nitrogen

A materials ability to burn in the presence of
oxygen

                       12
Electrolysis

        Electrodes

  This is a
 diagram of
separating a Power Source

 compound
 chemically

                          13
I have a mixture of sand
  and water, how do I
      separate it?

           14
Can I separate this
  another way?

         15
How can chemical
properties be observed?

           16
Why can the properties
 of a mixture vary?

          17
Why is the composition
 of an element fixed?

          18
