2. Introduction (1)
Company is based on knowledge and ensures its intellectual
capital.
It is perceived as equivalent "raw materials" in the industry.
In agricultural research : results must be translated into
innovations, creating new processes for agricultural enterprises.
Digital transformed the context of production and distribution
of documents in the scientific world.
Implementation of information systems : better transmission
and dissemination of knowledge through digital documents and
scientific production
Collaborative work between the scientific communities.
ISKO - Poland, Warsaw, 15-16 April 2013 2
3. Introduction (2) - Situation of Algeria
Algeria faces a food invoice of 3,6 billion dollars.
Scientific, industrial and economic information, as a
strategic resource is necessary to manage and
exploit in aid of all its sectors of activities, more
particularly of the agricultural sector.
That cannot be done without the installation of
mechanisms supporting the sharing of knowledge
and allowing the analysis of the results of the
national agronomic research.
ISKO - Poland, Warsaw, 15-16 April 2013 3
4. Introduction (3) - Investigation
Our investigation beyond the single issue of adequacy, but
it is interested on collaborative work and the interest of
such a device.
This question lead us to the following questions:
Have the researchers and professionals this culture of
knowledge sharing through the use of digital documents?
What is the role of digital documents, via the collaborative
platform?
Is science really fueling the economy?
Are researchers and professionals ready to supply the
future information system to ensure the sustainability?
ISKO - Poland, Warsaw, 15-16 April 2013 4
5. Survey Design and Methodology
First Survey : National survey was conducted of over
three hundred researchers in Algeria.
A total of 500 set of questions were distributed.
The gathering lasted five months (February - June 2008).
We received 345 returns, a rate of 69% of valid
questionnaires.
Second survey : 305 professionals of agribusiness.
A total of 500 questionnaires were distributed.
The gathering lasted seven months (June - December
2010).
We received 305 return, a rate of 61% of responses.
ISKO - Poland, Warsaw, 15-16 April 2013 5
6. COLLABORATIVE USE OF DIGITAL DOCUMENTS
BY THE ALGERIAN AGRICULTURAL RESEARCHERS
The use of digital documents : to assess the needs
of scientists in terms of information through the
future information Algerian agricultural
research system.
This analysis was based on the needs expressed
by researchers for access to information in a
wide range of electronic documents: the national
data bases research, national and international
publications and databases on the actors.
ISKO - Poland, Warsaw, 15-16 April 2013 6
7. Use of national databases
ISKO - Poland, Warsaw, 15-16 April 2013 7
8. Access to national publications
ISKO - Poland, Warsaw, 15-16 April 2013 8
10. Distribution of types of publication
to file in the information system
ISKO - Poland, Warsaw, 15-16 April 2013 10
11. USE OF DIGITAL DOCUMENTS FOR A PRACTICAL
KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT IN ALGERIAN FOOD
COMPANIES
The information and knowledge are not real value once
pooled and shared among all employees of an organization
within the framework of the execution of their duties.
These information sources can be used within the company
(experts, files, reports,...) and / or external (database,
journals, networking skills...).
Many sources of information use have been proposed to the
respondents to understand which ones are the most
practiced.
To clarify our study, we therefore distinguished two types of
information sources, one call formal and the other informal.
ISKO - Poland, Warsaw, 15-16 April 2013 11
12. WHAT ARE THE SOURCES OF
INFORMATION IN EXISTING BUSINESSES?
Respondents reveal the existence of a source of
information in their companies, with a rate of
92.5%.
ISKO - Poland, Warsaw, 15-16 April 2013 12
13. ACCESS TO FORMAL SOURCES OF INFORMATION
ISKO - Poland, Warsaw, 15-16 April 2013 13
14. ACCESS TO INFORMAL SOURCES OF
INFORMATION
ISKO - Poland, Warsaw, 15-16 April 2013 14
15. Types of documents to be filed in the
information system by professionals
ISKO - Poland, Warsaw, 15-16 April 2013 15
16. Conclusion
Algerian scientists and professionals integrate
this dimension in collaborative work to
establish collaboration on common themes
emerging through the use of various electronic
documents.
This is the price that will emerge a true
collective intelligence characterized by the
production of knowledge
This can be done with the use of digital
documents via an Algerian collaborative
platform of agriculture.
ISKO - Poland, Warsaw, 15-16 April 2013 16
17. Future Prospects : Agricultural Information
Systems in the Maghreb
Need for the creation of a favourable framework
for the division of knowledge to get more
collective intelligence.
The creation of an information system of high
added value will be a tool of piloting and
increasing the value of the scientific research.
Development of several databases on the
institutions, the research laboratories, the
projects, the researchers and their
publications.
