2. This image sticks within our genre of ‘indie/rock’ as the lighting is dark which helps create
a mystery to what the music video entails. As the camera shot is a ‘long angle’ shot which
helps create the feel of what is in the dark space around the camera angle, and make the
lighting a main focus of what shot as that is all what can be seen within the shot. Because
of the genre of the music video, we had to think what kind of themes we should stick with,
and we needed to make sure that we stuck within the theme throughout the whole video –
the lighting in our music video helped us portray our theme and genre throughout our
whole piece, as the lighting shown in this picture is the lighting we tried to stick with
throughout the video.
3. This shot is of our main artist, this shot is a close up of the artist to
show the audience who he is, this shot of the artist is the main focus
point of him singing which helps make the words portray more
meaning as the shot is focusing on only what is singing, the artist
shows so much meaning when singing. The lighting also sticks with
within the theme of the video as the lighting stays the same throughout
the whole thing, also, as the lighting is focused on just the artist this
makes him stand out more as it directly on his face.
4. This is the first time we see the couple together, by using a
long shot we are able to see the full scenery around them
and the mise en scene used in clothing we are again able to
see what the theme and genre is and how the music is
related to the theme of the music. By the actors chemistry
between them it shows how they are feeling together each
other and the body language shows that they are arguing.
5. The ballet within the music video is mostly close up shots so you can
closely see the detail in the movement of the ballet. The aim for the
ballet was to show how determined the artist was for his love with the
actress and how he wont give up on anything until hes got her back,
this is related to the ballet because the ballet dancer is so determined
to get the moves right and she tries and tries to get the right
movement but fails and in the end she gets it. By using a close up we
are mainly focused on what shes mainly doing.
6. This shot of the actress is an extreme close up to show her true
emotion of how she feels about her and the artist. The lighting is
dark which also carries on the theme which is carried throughout
the whole music video. Although the lighting isn’t so artificial and
bright, it is just dark so you can tell her emotions within the video as
its gets darker and darker throughout the video and the lighting
becomes more natural than artificial. The mise en scene within the
clip and this shot is used well within make up and hair style.
7. This shot is a long shot to show the area around him and it is
also from a low angle which makes the artist look more powerful,
which keeps with the theme and the rest of the video as although
he is beginning the actress not to leave him, he still has power
which is slowly looses throughout the video. The lighting within
this clip is all natural as we was lucky enough to have the sky like
this as it also is the same harsh/dark tone of light which is carried
one throughout the video, although as this shot is taken from the
beginning of the video the natural lighting within this is also quite
bright which can see as if it has a bit of hope that things might
change.
8. This clip is taken from the end of the video music, it is an establish
shot which establish the scenery around them, we was lucky
enough to get amazing natural light at the end of music video, with
a sunset. Which fit perfectly as we wanted the actress to walk off
him and him standing staring at her, upset watching her go. The
natural lighting with the shot works perfectly together as because
of the lighting the actors are black figures and there silhouette just
showing which fits well within the end as most music videos ends
with the couple getting back together whereas this is different,
which will make people remember it more.
9. This is a long shot of the artist standing in front of the light, as he is
frustrated by his love for the actress. The lighting is blocked by his
body which creates a silhouette of himself as he is standing in front
of the light. The long shot creates a dark atmosphere as all you can
see is a bit of light which sticks with the theme and genre of the
music video. It also creates a good image of himself as the mise en
scene used in this set is clothing, the clothing used is dark, however,
you can’t necessarily see his clothing as the lighting is so dark,
which creates the idea of mystery.
10. The digipack we used different images to suggest what the song may
include, also, the front of the digipack cover we cut up different images
of his face, to make it stand out and make sure the public notice it, we
used four different still picture of him and cut them up into different part
of his face which suggest different feelings, he may of felt. The lighting
of all the images stick with the theme of the video and the genre, also,
the lighting is similar throughout the whole promotional packages. The
made sure we put a picture of him and the actress in the digipack and
the actress is seen in most of his videos which promotes the digipack.
11. The magazine advert also sticks
with the lighting within the whole
promotional package as it sticks
with the theme and genre of the
music video. The close up of the
artist makes all this features stand
out, and makes him look strong and
it will promote himself to his fans as
the the picture makes him look
‘mysterious’. The spot light on this
face make him stand and makes
sure he is the main focus, the grid in
the background makes him stand
out even more as it makes him look
like he is at the front of the grid in
front of everyone else.
