management
Our M.A. in Digital Management combines a broad range of topics, including
change management, digital technology, business transformation, strategy, service
design and research methods with real-world applications. You will embark on a
transformative journey to become adaptive, collaborative and creatively driven,
empowered to go beyond conventional thinking and build value-based solutions to
the challenges of today’s industry.
A part-time Master’s program offers a mode of study designed to meet the time
pressures and learning styles of busy professionals. This gives you the flexibility to
explore the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in and transform your in-
dustry.
Our part-time study mode involves an average of 3 days per month over weekends
(Thu-Sat) on campus combined with readings and assignments designed to be
completed from home and within your own workplace, while also being supported
and inspired by Hyper Island.
The program comprises of five projects and an independent Industry Research
Project. Each project combines industry speakers, academic and professional per-
spectives, hands-on exercises, skills acquisition, collaborative teamwork, industry
briefs and individual and group reflection.

get a Master’s degree and apply new skills
directly within your workplace: transforming
the way projects run, harnessing new in-
sights and digital tools, and prototyping new
aproaches to your professional practice.
Activities and assignments are designed to
allow you to learn within your own work-
place, while also being supported and
inspired by Hyper Island.
Like all Hyper Island courses, this program is
project-based, experiential learning designed
in collaboration with industry leaders and
academics. You will be challenged to tackle
real-world problems and will research, create
and evaluate tangible solutions to these
briefs. We’ll inspire, provoke you and stretch
your thinking while providing a robust toolkit
that you can use in your day-to-day work.

Following successful completion of the
taught part of the programme, students
progress to the Industry Research Pro-
ject. This is your chance to put your
learning to work in an independent re-
search or professional context and devel-
op your knowledge and understanding in
a topic of your choice.
Hyper Island will help you design your
project and apply it within your work-
place. To successfully graduate with a
Master’s degree, students will present
the findings from their project using
reports, videos and prototypes as appro-
priate to their chosen problem to asses-
sors from industry, Teesside University
and Hyper Island.

In this program you will practice learning-by-doing and reflection as an active
learning tool. Through constant feedback, you will practice self-leadership,
enhancing your ability to work effectively both as a team member and leader.
You will learn to create and run effective teams, navigate group dynamics and
develop your skills in project management and leadership.
All course content is designed to meet the needs of today’s industry and is
delivered by industry professionals at the forefront of their field.
You will be challenged to create solutions to real-world problems, practicing
techniques of idea generation and business transformation.
