      The worlds major biomes have specific characteristics and are formed as a result of the climate present at their site.
    • Tropical Rainforests
      Consistent light, temperature, precipitation.
      The largest and densest variety of life on earth.
    • Polar
      6 months day, 6 months might. Up to -89 degrees C
    • Savanna
      Dry season, wet season, complex ecosystem
    • Tundra
      Below freezing most of the year, little precipitation, 24 hour daylight in summer, little daylight in winter. Permafrost soil.
    • Desert
      Little to no precipitation, as high as 57 degrees celsius, large variation between night and day temp. Little to no soil.
    • Almeria Desert, Spain
    • Nevada, USA
    • Atacama Desert:
      The driest place on earth
      No significant rainfall from 1570 – 1971
      La Nina
      20 million years old
