The document discusses the Lebanese Academic Library Consortium (LALC), the first library consortium in Lebanon. It describes LALC's formation in 2001 by four major academic institutions to jointly purchase electronic resources. LALC has been successful in acquiring more resources at lower costs for members, providing library users with more information. Future challenges for LALC include expanding subscriptions, widening membership, and setting standards for other Lebanese consortia.
