2. SIMULATION PROGRAMS
• It is a representation or model of
an event, an object, or some
phenomenon. A computerized

• Simulation program
developed hand-in-hand
with the rapid growth of
the computer, following
its first large-scale
deployment during
the Manhattan
Project in World War II to
model the process
of nuclear detonation.
Given the security code
name “Monte Carlo”.

to real-life problems/situations.
SIMULATION PROGRAMS
• Asks students to make decision on
models or scenarios.
• Allows students to manipulate
elements of a model and get the
experience of the effects of their
decision.
8. • It requires technology which
might not be accessible or
available.
DISADVANTAGES OF
SIMULATION PROGRAM
• Safety issues concerning the use
of computer
• Sometimes, simulation results
may be difficult to interpret.
10. Multimedia Encyclopedia
• stores a huge database with texts,
images, animation, audio and video.
Students can access any desired
information, search its vast contents,
and even download/print relevant
portions of data for their composition

American Encyclopedia
on CD-ROM (1985), were
basically digitized versions
of the printed sets.
