2. Innovation 10 Things professional development course for teachers at the elementary level. Next year will be a time of change for Oakridge with the reduction of technology classes in the elementary schools.
3. Stakeholders Teachers at Oakridge Lower Elementary Needs analysis plan will address: current technology use in the classroom determine future computer lab use technology related professional development ideas familiarity with various technology tools.
4. Timeline September – Needs assessment plan given to all teachers in the building September – December – Plan reviewed, team formed January – June – Team meets . Teachers on the team will implement the technology tools in their classroom and develop grade specific lesson plans and resources utilizing the technology. The team will also create the blog used to guide teachers through the professional development. September – All teachers will be trained on the 10 Things course and the blog. September – June – Teachers will work through the 10 Things, completing the activities for at least one tool each month. They will also post feedback on the blog. During staff and grade level meetings, teachers will discuss successes and failures with the team. The various grade level teachers will also share specific ways they implemented the technology. June – Flip camera drawing for all teachers who completed and implemented each of the technology tools in their classroom during the year.
5. Innovation Funding Need $150 for a flip camera and around $150 for webcams - $300 total Money for the purchase will be from the district, parent club grant or community foundation grants.

Challenges and Solutions Time needed to develop lessons – first group will develop new lessons for the other teachers Technology is another subject to teach – when technology is seamlessly integrated that is eliminated Current teaching methods already work, why start something new – lives of students today are filled with technology, as teachers we need to look at students and determine how they learn best. No background with blogs – training at the beginning and a FAQ sheet to use as a guide through the year.
