3. General Information and conditions
The success of your function is important to us! In order to offer you a professional and personalized event, we ask that you
review the policies outlined below. If we have left any questions unanswered, please feel free to contact our Catering
Department.
Quality: Whether your function is large or small, casual or formal, NSU Catering will provide the finest service and food
available. At NSU Catering, our professional chefs use only the finest ingredients to make your meal a culinary delight. For years
we have created events ranging from continental breakfasts for a dozen people to gala dinners for hundreds, all with our
characteristic mark of exceptional quality and value. You can count on NSU Catering to create a unique and memorable event
that matches your needs, and your budget.
Convenience: NSU Catering, a department of Campus Dining Services, delivers the excellence you expect from Nova
Southeastern University. We provide services to Nova Southeastern's choice locations. Our years of experience at Nova
Southeastern grants us the unique ability to understand your needs, and makes us the logical choice for on-campus events. Also,
when you are booking your event through an NSU department, our invoicing process is quick, easy and efficient. In short, no
other caterer can match the total ease with which NSU Catering performs functions at Nova Southeastern University.
Service: Our trained staff is qualified to assist you in every detail of your event. In addition to food, we can offer linens,
decorations and other services to add a special touch to your function. Collaborating with you, we will customize your event to
meet your specific needs. We are happy to speak with you about your arrangements for special dietary needs, alcohol policies,
flowers, or anything else that you require. If you have any unique requests, simply let us know and we will gladly accommodate
you and your guests.
Reservations: Facilities, AV equipment and room setup for events are to be reserved through each building’s room coordinator
and is the sole responsibility of the client. Reservations are to be made at least two weeks in advance of the function. Please ensure
that reserved rooms are accessible and table setup is complete and available at least one hour prior to your event. Full service
china and hot buffet events require additional setup time. Please inquire as to the amount of time needed when placing your food
order. Additional labor charges will be assessed to your final invoice if the room is not accessible, setup and/or if the catering
staff has to perform the setup for your event.
Food and Beverage: To place an order or schedule an appointment with NSU Catering please call (954) 262-5302,
Fax: (954) 262-3923 or E-mail: catering@nsudining.com to arrange menu and service details. Our sales staff will be on hand
to assist you Monday through Friday 8:30AM until 5:00PM. Food arrangements should be made at least SEVEN DAYS in advance
of the function. Orders placed less than 48 business hours after 10:00 AM from the event may limit availability of certain items
or services offered and maybe subject to a 15% late fee or a charge of $20.00, whichever is greater. A $25.00 fee will be applied
to certain menus when the number of guests is below the required minimum.
Guarantee: Final attendance confirmation of all food and beverage functions must be received by 10:00 AM two business days
prior to the function date. This count is not subject to reduction in this 48-hour period. A member of our catering staff will
give you a confirmation call the day before the event.
Payment: We'll be glad to accept payment by either Nova Southeastern University account number, cash, check or credit card.
If cash or check is being used, final payment needs to be received by the catering office two full business days prior to the event.
All contracts must be signed and include your 10-digit account number at least 48 hours prior to your event or alternate payment
information must be provided.
4. General Information
China Fee: All catered functions, coffee breaks, buffets and receptions include our high quality disposable products. There is
an additional charge of $3.25 per person for china and glassware service. For any custom orders, please contact catering office.
Linens: NSU Catering can supply your event with all the necessary linens. Hot lunch and dinner buffets include table skirting
when room setup allows. All table skirting is for one-sided buffets only. An additional fee will be assessed for events that require
both sides skirted. Specialty linens can be acquired upon request.
Delivery: A $5.00 delivery fee applies to all catered events on the Central campus. You may pick up orders on the first floor of
Rosenthal Student Center, during normal business hours. A $20.00 fee will assessed to all deliveries made to East Campus, North
Miami Beach, Dania Oceanographics Center, and Griffin Road locations.
Pricing: All published prices are for events held at a Nova Southeastern University facility. Additional charges will apply for
other venues and events held on weekends or holidays. A 6% sales tax will be applied where applicable.
Rental Items: We can be of assistance in many areas of service to enhance your event, including floral arrangements, balloons,
ice carvings, entertainment and decorations.
Attendant Fees: If your event requires attendants and/or bartenders to stay and replenish, and/or serve your event, a service charge
of $20.00 per hour for a minimum 2-hour period per attendant is required. Additional special services are based upon availability
for an additional fee. For large events, additional labor charges may apply.
Alcohol Policy: NSU Catering does not have a liquor license to purchase alcohol. Arrangements for all alcohol orders and
possible returns after an event are to be made with the Nova Southeastern Univeristy Purchasing Department. NSU Catering will
provide alcohol pick up service for a $25.00 fee. Any remaining alcohol must be removed by the client.
Cancellations: We require a minimum of 48 hours notification on cancellation of any order. Orders cancelled less than 48 hours
prior to your event will be responsible for the cost of all perishable food items ordered on your behalf. Same-day cancellations
will be assessed 75-100% of guarantee on the final invoice.
Liability: Clients are responsible for all equipment rented for their event and will be charged for all missing or damaged items.
All equipment must be available for pick up at the designated event site and at the designated time per the catering contract. NSU
Catering will not be responsible for any products or property left unattended after delivery. Clients should make arrangements
to meet delivery personnel or arrange for a secured location.
