3. TO THE LEARNER
Science is all about discovery. Each day in your
life, you experience and discover something different
and something new to you. These discoveries lead to
learning. You may not know it, but there is science
involved in the things that you do everyday.
This book will help you in your discoveries. It will
explain to you what is happening, how it happens and
why it happens. This book will help you answer the many
questions you have in your mind. As you read along and
do the activities in the pages of this book, one discovery
might lead to other questions. Just keep on asking the
questions in your mind. All discoveries of our famous
scientists all began with a question. Who knows, you
might be a famous scientist someday!

4. TO THE TEACHER
This Science book is all about discovery. This is a
book that will lead the pupils to ask questions and discover
new things as they search for answers to their questions.
Your role as a teacher is to explain to the pupils through
experiential activities how the concepts happen and why
they happen. To be able to enrich learning, make your
activities as interactive as possible. Encourage active
participation from your pupils so that they will learn
through firsthand experience.
This book is only one of the tools that will help your
pupils learn. Your daily preparation in the classroom will
make the concepts in this book come alive. After engaging
the pupils in various hands on activities, support your
findings with explanations. The explanations found in
this book will help you in explaining to the students the
different concepts that you have introduced.
This book is also a helpful resource for parents
who should also be involved in the teaching and learning
process. There are review and enrichment activities that
may be done at home. By soliciting the participation of
parents, we are assured that learning goes on even after
school.
Have a wonderful discovery!
