Hello Everyone, Myself Sonali and I have Vivek here with me.
We are here to talk about features of Mobile Enhancements that are provided in CRM 2016.
Before we begin just to make a note, we have muted everyone in the webinar. So if anyone has any queries, you can type it in chat window and we will resolve the same.
so the topics that we intend to cover in our todays webinar are
Task Based Experience
Mobile client form preview
Web Resource and IFRAME
Mobile Management(MDM)
Document Management
App-to-app deep linking
Modern mobile friendly experience
Mobile Offline Support
Lets have a look on these features individually along with the demo for the same.
Task Based Experience allows user to focus on tasks and not the records.
Data from multiple entities are brought together as a single user experience, so user do not have to navigate on multiple entities for performing a single task.
So this functionality provides users to perform 3 tasks
the first one is After Meeting …..This tasks enables users to create appointments on a particular record or can edit the existing appointments.
Next one is Make Contact on Opportunity ….. Here user can update the contact details on existing opportunity or can create a new opportunity and then update contact details on that opportunity.
And the last task is Update Contact: Here user can either update the existing contact or can create a new contact.
Point to be Noted: Task based experiences will be available on phones and tablets as a preview feature for Dynamics CRM Online 2016 customers.
So here we have a small video covering the demo for tasked based experience.
here on the left hand side, there is a icon which is enabled for this feature.
So the first task….. After Meeting …….this enables users to create appointments or to update the existing appointments…..so we can see a list of appointments present and down here we can create a new appointment.
The next task is make contact on opportunity….here we can see list of existing opportunities on which user can update contact details while he can create new opportunity and then add contact details on that opportunity.
And the last task is updating contact…here user can update the exiting contact details or can create a new contact record.
So this was task based experience….lets see the next feature.
Next one is …..Mobile Client Form Preview:
As Developer,
While designing forms in CRM, now we can easily preview the tablet ,phone forms and dashboards directly within the browser. So if a user wants to customize some changes on form or dashboard, he can do those changes and can preview them within the browser for Mobile or Tablet mode. i.e. User do not have to go to the mobile or tablet just to see how the changes will look.
Lets see how this feature in a quick small video
So in CRM, under forms if I want to edit from…lets say I will remove this Fax field…so before publishing any customizations….. user can directly view the form in browser …..so Under Home Tab there is this option to preview…so the moment you click…user can either have tablet view or mobile client view.
So when you click that…this is how it will appear on browser.
The next one is …..
Web Resource and IFRAME:
This feature was introduced as a preview feature in CRM 2015 Update 1 but now its available along with support for Windows Tablet.
So here we have customised Account form.
So under Barclays account we have added Iframe for their website.
Mobile Management:
With help of Microsoft Intune, users will be able to secure organisation data with mobile application management capabilities.
Customers will be able to secure the data in BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) scenarios.
So various Policy managed CRM mobile apps can support Intune management policies such as:
PIN enforcement
Enforce encryption of app data at rest
App-level selective wipe
With Microsoft Intune…there are Some mobile device Capabilities ….
First one, password management…... This differs across various mobile device platforms. ……so password policy like to set a limit the number of failed attempts, set password expiration, password length can be configured.
Second one, Device capabilities. ….This allows admin to allow or deny use of various mobile apps like camera, voice assistant, voice dialling.
Third one. ….Reset password. This this allows users to reset password if users lost access to their device
Fourth one Selective Wipe, this allows admin to remove all corporate data from one particular device.
And the last one is Conditional Access, this policy is by default applicable to Exchange Online, Exchange On premise and SharePoint.
Mobile CRM app is also supported by Microsoft Intune:
Functionalities that can be configured for CRM are like:
Intune can help to encrypt data at device level.
Intune provides the ability to remotely wipe data from device enrolled. (So if a person leaves the organization , admin can simply wipe off the corporate data from his/her device).
Intune can also help organizations to ask for additional pin for accessing the managed app.
Intune can also help in securing integration with office apps like data from Microsoft word cannot be copied to another text editor.
So now if a person manually tries to configure his/her mail account with organization account before enrolling….
He will get this email saying to first enrol the device and then only u can access the account
So before enrolling the person cannot access his organization mail account.
So security is maintained here.
So here we have a small video covering the enrolment process for a device.
Next feature in line is Document Management, which will be covered by Vivek.
Thank you Sonali.
So the next feature to look at is Document Management:
This feature allows users to easily open Microsoft Office Documents related to any entity which are stored in SharePoint or One Drive for Business.
User can also edit the documents from the Mobile or Tablet which correspondingly updates the document on SharePoint or OneDrive.
Lets have a look at the demo for the same.
So while accessing on mobile, under documents tab, user can view all the documents associated with that particular record.
Here user can view and update documents from Mobile.
Next feature to look at is App-to-App deep linking
App-to-app deep linking enables other mobile apps(such as email or your custom mashup apps) to link and directly navigate to record, View or dashboard within CRM mobile app.
In simple terms, this provides a URL addressable form/view/dashboard.
Lets have look at the demo for this.
1) Sharing a particular record.
2) Sharing a particular view.
Since this device is already configured with a particular mailbox, a new mail will be drafted with the link.
Modern mobile friendly experience
This feature provides user with many UI controls that can be used in Mobile Apps
Here users can bind a data field to a new UI control, representing the data in a visual and interactive way.
There are 15 UI Controls added for all mobile clients that provide an attractive and immersive mobile experience.
So controls added will appear as images shown besides them on mobile or tablet.
The controls added are , Radial Knob, Star Rating, Option Set, Multimedia Control, Pen Control, Number Input, Calendar Control
Linear Slider, Linear Gauge, Bullet Graph, Arc Knob, Website Preview, Auto Complete, Input Mask, Flip Switch
So based on different datatypes, different controls can be added. For e.g.: Linear Slider can work with datatypes like whole number, currency, Floating point and decimal values. Similarly, Flip switch works with datatypes like Boolean and two options.
On another note, these controls cannot be added on Lookup fields.
Let have a look at the demo of how this controls will actually look on mobiles.
Demo : We have added certain controls on our Contact entity. Let have a look at them.
The Very first control here is Option Set Control that is applied on preferred method of contact field with Data type Option Set.
Where as second control is Star Rating Control, that is added on Contact rating field with data type Whole Number.
Next control is Multimedia control added on Guide URL with data type as single line text with URL type.
So coming to the next control that is Pen Control which is added to Description field .this control can be used to have digital signatures and the data here gets stored in the form of an image.
Now here the on Bulk email field we have added the Flip switch control which has data type Two options.
And finally on this form we have probability field which has radial knob control added. So here or the redial knob we can add minimumvalue, maximum value and the step value for the knob.
Calendar Control on My Activities
(User can view the related activities day wise, week wise and month wise in one view).
Next feature we will be looking at is Mobile Offline Support.
So finally the last mobile feature in CRM 2016 is Offline Support
This feature is limited to only few customers as of now and actual release is scheduled in next 3-6 months.
So As per the CRM 2016 Preview guide, In mobile offline support, users can create, edit and Delete records in offline mode
One thing to note is : Offline support will only be available for Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online 2016 customers with 30 or more Enterprise or Professional licenses.
Thank you everyone for your patience. Our team over here have tried to answer every query on Mobility enhancements for CRM 2016.However if anything is left out, we will get back on the same. This presentation and the webinar video will be uploaded on our website.Thank you.
