  • Starting Graph Use inbuilt curricular examples to record, display and handle information • Recording results of experiments  in spreadsheet. Return to Primary • Example from RM Workbox  Network Computer (www.learningalive.co.uk   Software Teacher Area  Resources   Window Box  files) “Car Ramps” Falkirk Council Education Services 5
  • Kidspiration • Provides templates in mind‐mapping form for planning and reporting. Return to Primary Network Computer Software Falkirk Council Education Services 6
  • Number Magic • Spreadsheets help with a series of calculations that need to be repeated often. • Once they are set up they can be used to explore the effect of changing one number on the others. • The data can also be displayed very easily as a graph or chart. • Number Magic has a number of Return to Primary in‐built curricular examples ‐ in Blue and Red Network level exercises folder Computer Software • Recording results of investigation in  spreadsheet and using to produce  graphs or try “What if…..?” changes: Example from RM Workbox  (www.learningalive.co.uk) “Shadows” Falkirk Council Education Services 7
  • My World My World • Electronic "fuzzy‐felt". • Drag and drop, rotate, resize and reflect objects. • Lesson plans available through RM Return to Workbox Primary Network Computer Software Falkirk Council Education Services 8
  • Stagecast Creator Simulations which introduce cycle of  prediction, planning and recording, and allow pupils to ask “What if…….” then try out their predictions: Return to • Flower Garden – simulation of  Primary   the lifecycle of a plant  Network Computer   and the water cycle. Software •F Falkirk Council Education Services 9
  • Crocodile Clips Electrical Circuits • Stepbystep interactive tasks. Return to Primary • Create own Network circuits which Computer work if wired Software up correctly. Falkirk Council Education Services 10
  • Using Digital Video to record  and present science topics Return to Primary Network Computer Software Falkirk Council Education Services 11
  • The Big 6 Research skills  One method of teaching information skills for  investigating sources of information from  databases, encyclopaedias and the internet is  that known as “the Big Six.” The following is an  outline of the process described in this method.  www.big6.com/kids/ Return to Primary Network 1.  Define the task  what needs to be done? Computer 2.  Information Seeking Strategies  what resources can I use? Software 3.  Location and Access  where can I find these resources? 4.  Use of information  what can I use from these resources? 5.  Synthesis  what can I make to finish the job? 6.  Evaluation  how will I know I did my job well? Falkirk Council Education Services 12
