The ultimate of any innovation is that It should be used
by the person for whom it was meant.
The actual putting into practice of the innovation is
called as adoption.

Trialability: The complexity of an innovation as perceived by
the members of a social system, is negatively related to its rate of
adoption.
Relative advantage: The relative advantage of an innovation as
perceived by the members of a social system, is positively related
to its rate of adoption
Compatibility: The compatibility of an innovation as perceived
by the members of a social system, is positively related to its
rate of adoption
Complexity: The complexity of an innovation as perceived by
the members of a social system, is negatively related to its rate
of adoption
Observability: The complexity of an innovation as perceived by
the members of a social system, is negatively related to its rate
of adoption

whereas in case of a modern social system the rate of adoption is
high
The degree of interconnectedness in a social system is positively
related to the rate of adoption of innovations
Interconnectedness is the degree to which the units in a social
system are linked by interpersonal networks

7. Extent of Change Agents’ Promotion Efforts
Although the efforts of the change agents play a very important and
significant role in the rate of adoption, the effect however is not
direct. Many other factors play intervening roles in the rate of
adoption
