School Administrator
Presented By:
Ammara Khan Niazi

How counselors work with
administrators:
This includes:
1. The school counselor can also make
significant consultation contributions to
the educational leadership of the school
system.
2. The counselor has the capacity to
gather data that describe the
characteristics of the student population
and student’s needs. This information
can be useful for educational planning
and management.
3. The school counselor must be of enough informatory of
the knowledge of human growth and development.
Because if he know about the basic principles of growth
and development, he can easily guide the administrators
for taking actions about students according to the psyche
of students and their psychological needs.
4. The school counselor can also provide valuable
experiences to the administrator for improving his or her
school climate or environment. And this counseling not
just fruitful for learning but also very beneficial for +ive
social Interaction and good citizenship.
5. Achieving academic success and working with
students and other stakeholders to develop
future career plans. And also guide the students
during their working hours.
6. Supporting social justice for all students. and also
make a plan or set of rules of behaving equally to
all the students.
7. Encouraging school wide change to benefit
students
8. Developing a school environment that encourages
academic achievement. Just like scholarships
systems and continuously feedback or
competitions among students.
9. Celebrating student differences and valuing
uniqueness. Like the child who is a good debater
than others. And also appreciating them for their
unique characteristics.
10. Maintaining continuing education with a focus on
multicultural advancement.
11. The counselor does not overlook the morale need of his
or her colleagues-the teachers. He should maintain the
good relations with teachers and also create a healthy
environment.
12. Stress management workshops and “jelly bean” days
mean special complement-giving time during which
teachers and administrators communicate with each
other to solve the school administrative and academic
problems.
These are the helpful way for the counselors to assist the
school administrators in a better way.
The leadership roles that school
counselors are now charged with in
terms of implementing comprehensive
school counseling programs put these
counselors at the forefront in promoting
academic achievement and college
readiness among students.
