Your Role and Task
During this exercise, you will take on the role of a
special witness to the United Nations/United
States/Olympics Committee (Your Choice).
Your Task is to make a proposal to the organization
about how to combat the issues faced in your topic.
For Example: What should the United States do in
response to ISIS’s victories over the weekend?

Your Group Must…
Decide on what issue you will be creating a proposal
to solve.
Provide three concrete details that support your
position.
Provide 2-3 specific policy steps that your
organization should take to solve your issue.
Evaluate your proposal with specific strengths and
limitations (back sheet of paper).
Prepare a short formal proposal which you will share
with the class that will shape their decision making.

Your Proposal Must Include…
A background overview of your issue: Include what
is happening and why it is a problem.
A clear explanation of your specific Policy Steps to
solve these issues.
A clear evaluation of strengths and limitations of your
plan.
Following your formal proposal, your group will be
required to defend and justify it to a panel of
students who will either accept or decline your plan.
