Wikis and structured authoring like DITA can co-exist by using wikis for collaboration and feedback while using structured formats like DITA for final published content. Wikis are good for many smaller collaborative spaces within an organization, while DITA is better for publishing to different outputs and ensuring consistency. Some organizations use wikis as the source and pre-seed DITA projects or use wikis for unstructured collaboration and DITA for the structured stored content that gets output to different formats.
