How to run a restaurant. Xulingzhang CAT 250
Overview of the project This project will last for the whole semester. I will divided the whole class into several groups. I am going to separate this project into tree steps. Review the necessary acknowledge about the project.  Gathering the ideas and the information. Present your plan to other groups.
Overview of the process Review the necessary acknowledge: Acknowledge about marketing, math and accounting. Gathering the ideas and the information: Brainstorming  Group discussions Survey Present your plan: Presentation Peer review
Questions Essential question: How to make more money to live better? Unit question: How to make profit on a business. Content question: How to design a famous menu in a restaurant.  How to increase sales by marketing the market.
Teachers Role Make sure the student understand the basic process to run a restaurant. Make sure the student can use their marketing acknowledge to increase sales. Make sure the student know the basic accounting method to record all the revenue and expense. Make sure the student know how to communicate with the customers to solve some problems.
Roll of Parent Support your kids to to the survey. Monitor your kid’s process of the project. Try to give some advices and feedback of your kid’s works.
Role of Student Review all the acknowledge you need to know before the project start. Follow the time-line to finish your assignment. Try to share your opinion in the group conference.
Benefit of the Project Student will learn how to work in a team. Student will review and learn a lot of acknowledges. Student will learn the problem solving skill.
Project Based learning  Student will role of the manager of a restaurant. Student will create a survey to find out what does the customer need. Prepare to solve some the problems during the operation.
