Compulsary education is from five to eigtheen
All schools are independent in education style.
At the age of sixteen students can attend a course with only one
or two days of school per week.

Typical day
8:30-9:00: Arrival and play with parents. Parents must wave goodbye before they leave.
9:00: Play activity – drawing, painting, crafts in relation to the monthly theme
10:00: Snack
10:30: Circle – songs and stories in relation to the theme
10:45: Play outside or inside if raining/snowing
11:45: Pick up for children staying 3 hours
12:00: Lunch – bread with cheese or hagelslag
12:45 : Activity – movement or creative activity
13-13:30: Pick up for children staying 5 hours
8. • Elementary school
Children attend from four or five.
Are grouped depending on their age or knowledge.

At the end of elementary school, students take an exam.

First and second years almost have no differences, students can attend
bridgeclasses then make a final decision.

Has FOUR types – 1;2;3;4; and FOUR programmes. Choosen type defines
future carrier and profession. 1- easiest course; 4- hardest course

Professions vary from... meat industries... to ...enviroment sectors...
~ 435.000 students choose this type of education every year.
13. Senior general secondary education
FOUR levels:
1. Lasting 6 months – one year / students are thought an easy job
2. Lasting 2 – 3 years / students are thought more difficult job
3. Lasting 2 – 3 years / students are thought more responsibility (more
practical work in a course)
4. Lasting 3 – 4 years / teaches general management, then
lasting additional 1 – 2 years / students are provided high level
specialization, prepared for tasks requireing much responsibility
In a choosen type:
• MORE than 60% practical work
• LESS than 60% practical work

In a highier level than senior general secondary education.

• Universities of Applied sciences
provide vocational studies

specialises in science, engineering, and technology
17. Day studies often lasts four - three years,
Students can choose evening studies or work-study programms.
Persons over 18 that do not have needed education
level, can attend Open University.
