• is a media franchise managed by The Pokémon Company, a
Japanese consortium between Nintendo, Game Freak, and
Creatures.
• Created in year 1995
• is centered on fictional creatures called "Pokémon",
which humans, known as Pokémon Trainers, catch
and train to battle each other for sport.
• began as a pair of video games for the original
Game Boy
• now spans video games, trading card games,
animated television shows and movies, comic books,
and toys.
3. The Starters
At the beginning of their quest, Trainers are given a starter Pokémon. This Pokémon will be used to
battle the first wild Pokémon that the Trainer encounters. In the core series games, it is said that
the starter Pokémon are extremely rare, giving the player a reason why the Pokémon not chosen
can't be found in the wild. Different region have different starter pokemon.

4. About Pokedex
• an electronic device
• provide information regarding the various species of Pokémon
• it can feature every Pokémon on it, depending on the Pokédex.
• Each region has a different style of Pokédex
• Pokédex does not start blank and fill after encountering and catching Pokémon.
• Pokédex acts as a portable reference tool, able to give information about a
certain species of Pokémon even if a trainer has not seen or caught it. It can also
give detailed descriptions of various trainer tools, such as the Poké Flute.
• The Pokédex also acts as a form of identification, allowing trainers to partake in
the various Pokémon League competitions
