Question 3 and 4 of evaluation
1. 3. What have you learnt from
your audience feedback?
Carolina Bazzarelli dos santos
2. Audience feedback
• The audience brings in the revenue and make a
persons work credible, it is also what makes a
film popular or not, the more people that enjoy a
film the more the message of it gets spread. The
aim of an editor/director/producer is to please
their audience.
• In my case audience feedback was important to
improve parts so the audience enjoyed it more. It
also helped to improve all 3 of my productions
3. Research and planning
• Who did you ask?
Our target audience 17-35 both men and women. Our
trailer was specific for a younger audience due to its
modern storyline ,representation overall and the
themes which run through the plot.
The most effective way of
• Can provide direct answers (people tend to be honest
and open)
• It is entertaining to watch.
• Can provide good sound bites.
• It allows you to see the respondent (appearance,
expression etc...)
• Responses are first hand rather than taken from notes
or charts
• and graphs. It brings them to live.
• You can meet people in their own environment and
use video to show this environment.
• Technology allows you to disseminate this
information quickly and to a wide audience through
e-mail and the internet.
• It is interesting and memorable – it is likely to have a
good initial and long term impact on those who see it.
4. Main feedback
• Feedback:
Once I'd given my poster in, I received important feedback in order to improve the movie
poster. Overall, it is a likeable poster which promising potential, however there were many
important points which I had to consider and change for improvement.
The main things to change:
-The billing had to be thinner and smaller
-The name of the actor at the top of the page or eliminated( The reason for this is because
many films with only one protagonist, usually has no name in the center of the poster. For
example: James Bond movie poster only features his name in the billing box
-Consider putting a rating or review
-The logos must be in line with billing box and much smaller
-Make the actors face darker
-Change the font for the title
• Previously, the genre of my trailer was Drama- which I thought would be suitable as the
trailer is a sub-genre of Drama. However after the feedback I received and throughout my
evaluation there were a few changes with the Genre, thus is was specific to my target
audience and it followed the conventions of the final chosen genre.
Psychological thriller
• Trailer- After our first view, overall the comments were quite positive, however there was still
a key aspect missing. After watching many other psychological thriller trailers many of them
have a diagetic voice over. Based on this idea we included a voice over of which made the
trailer much more understandable and allows the audience to be drawn into the trailer, making
them feel almost part of it draws you in and makes you feel like you are part of the movie.
5. Questions for the audiences
• As I wasn’t able show my trailer on its first viewing. So I made
some questions for the audience to answer in response to my other
class mates trailer just so I has a rough idea of their views.
• The questions are:
1. What do you like about the trailers?
2. What were your favourite things about this trailer?
3. What is your most preferred genre?
6. Limitations
• Our limitation is that on the day of our viewing
our trailer was on my other team members
computer and he was absent so I wasn't able to do
my showing on the day
• Another limitation was that when we did the vox
pop, we only used boys and girls ages 17-20 so
next time it would be more useful to have a few
more people from older ages because their views
and choices may have been a little different
7. Positives
• Target audience is represented in the trailer. The story of a
teenage boy (boys and girls 18-35)
• The trailer follows the conventions of its genre
• Many questions were raised
• The feedback was really good and the points we had to act on
such as grading was edited.
8. 4. What have you understood from the
role and new media in various stages
of the production?
