Curriculum - AP Computer Science A
This course guides students through learning Java, with an emphasis on object-oriented
programming. Students build a variety of complex projects while learning about objects,
classes, scope, inheritance, and basic searching and sorting algorithms in Java. This
course prepares students for the AP Computer Science A exam, which is administered in
May of each year.
Some students take this course with Juni Learning in preparation for their own high
school AP course while others prepare directly for the exam. While this course through
Juni will not grant high school credit, students who take and pass the AP exam can qualify
for college credit and signal academic rigor to universities during the application process.
Students do not need to take AP CS A in their high school concurrently with this course.
