2. How did I attract / address my audience?
From looking at existing products and constructing research I found out ways to
attract my target audience. These included using images and feature stories
which would initially appeal to the readers. Many of the stories I produced
featured popular bands and artists from the pop music genre. I researched top
music charts of the week and highlighted my music genre, in which I was able
to find out popular artists to use within my magazine.
I also looked for popular festivals and concerts to use as prizes in competitions
and offers through out my magazine products. These included popular festivals
like V fest, where many pop artists perform. This was a good way to address
my audience because of the popularity of the concerts already; it would be a
way to get readers to purchase the magazine.
Finally, I used the colour scheme to relate back to my music genre, creating an
obvious look and used colours which stereotypically reminded me of my music
genre. This would help attract my target audience by being able to recognise
the magazine products and remember the magazine genre.
3. Audience Feedback
Questionnaire
I asked a group of ten people for some
audience feedback on my magazine, in
the form of a questionnaire. The
questionnaire asks questions from the
layout and music genre to the price and
content.
I displayed the answers in forms of pie
charts and bar graphs, showing the
difference between the negative and
positive answers. This benefited me
because I was able to see the results
from the questionnaire clearly and it
gave me knowledge on how to improve
my magazine for future reference.
4. This pie chart creates a strong opinion on my magazine music
genre, showing the majority of my target audience recognising the
genre. This also shows there are areas for improvements to
portray my music genre more, showing it clearly.
5. This pie chart shows a clear view of the music choices I have made within my
magazine. It also shows the majority of my target audience listen and enjoy
the music included in the products. To incorporate the minority’s opinion;
including some variations of music genres could appeal to a wider population
of my target audience.
6. This bar graph shows that my magazine is in the right price range for many of
my target audience and because most of them are students, this reassures my
price choices, knowing it’s affordable for the majority. For improvements, a
lower price would appeal to all my target audience, creating a wider popularity
through readers.
7. This bar graph shows the reasons why my target audience is attracted to the
magazine. The majority of readers voted for music content, reflecting the
music genre and what they want to listen to. The competitions and prizes also
show a popular choice, which interests more audience.
8. This pie chart shows the amount of readers who would recommend the
magazine. I think the result for the majority of the audience is good and shows
where some improvements could be made, like adding more features for
different music genres and toning down the colour scheme.
9. This bar chart shows the amount of people who find the competitions and
offers appealing to them. I think this is an important feature for my
magazine because, from the result of the graph, it’s ideal to address the
audience with what they would want to see.
10. This bar chart shows the amount of people who find the competitions and
offers appealing to them. I think this is an important feature for my
magazine because, from the result of the graph, it’s ideal to address the
audience with what they would want to see.
