(Finishing
• Definition:
– According to customer specifications, the paper is cut in reels or sheets
and packaged
• Purpose:
– Eliminating imperfections
– Dividing the paper into sales units
– Protecting the paper against climatic conditions, moisture etc.
– Marking the product with identifying labels
• Configuration criteria
– Sheets:
Web direction: long grain, short grain
Packaging: unreamed with or without counting strips, ream wrapped

Surface plasticizing

– Physical processes – ironing effect - triggers
