of Cambodia.
• Situated by 2 cities and 3 districts
• Islands: 32
• Area: 2,659 sq km.
• Beach length: 175.81 km
• Population: 310,072 people
• Employment:
- Services - 79.20%
- Manufacturing and Aquaculture 20.8%

WHAT WE ARE DOING TO REDUCE THE PLASTIC WASTES FROM THE OCEAN
• Extra-charge 0.1$ for each plastic
bag at all supermarkets in Preah
Sihanouk Province.
(in line with Sub-Decree 168: plastic
bags regulations)

• Installation of waste filters
• Other means of plastic wastes
collecting and promote public
awareness, e.g. boats

• Zero Plastic zones
• Installing clean water dispensers on
schools and public spaces

WHAT WE ARE DOING TO INCREASE AWARENESS
• Actively collaborate with NGOs, private
companies, and others to support the
plastic-to-cash. e.g. Tontoton, FFI.
• Setup a used fisheries equipment
collecting site

• Hold beach cleaning campaign to raise
awareness.
• Hold an annual workshop on guide and
mechanism to reduce plastic waste
generated from hotel, resorts and
restaurants.
• Hold an annual workshop to promote the
sub-decree 168.

WHAT WE ARE DOING TO INCREASE AWARENESS
• Installing 4Rs awareness rising board on
public space, parking lots, supermarkets to
discourage people from using single-use
plastic materials.
• Conduct public awareness through
environmental education, creative
communication strategies, and other public
relations and media activities.
