TASK stands for the Toronto Area Security Klatch, and is a group of IT security pros that meet monthly. The meeting on March 28th focused on career development: building your brand, networking effectively, and mastering the job interview.
9. Networking: SON
• Be Strategic
– Which events? Which people would you like to
meet? Any volunteer opportunities?
• Be Organized
– Try to arrive a bit early
• Be Nice to Yourself
– Don’t feel that you must attend each event.
– Don’t feel that you have to meet every person.

14. At the Interview
• Be ON TIME for the interview. Factor traffic
into your travel time;
• Look the interviewer in the eye;
• Don’t fidget;
• Remember to breathe and smile;
• Ask questions;
• You have something to offer. Remember
what that is and tell them.

15. Post-Interview
• Think about the interview.
• How did it go? Were you able to
answer all of the questions? Which
ones did you miss? Which ones could
you have answered “better?”
• Write down your answers and reflect.
