- The absolute value of a number is the

- It is denoted by (| |) two bars.
Example:
|2| = 2 “the absolute value of 2 is 2”
|-2| = 2 “the absolute value of -2 is 2”
-|2| = -2 “the negative absolute value of 2 is -2”
