2. The cube of binomial can be determined by multiplying the perfect
square binomial and the binomial itself.
Apply the formula of F3 + 3F2L + 3FL2 + L3.
Where,
F3 – cube the first term
3F2L - thrice the square of the first term multiplied by the second / last
term
3FL2 - thrice the first term by the square of the second / last term
L3 – cube the second / last term

3. Example 1. Find the product of (x+ 2)3 .
(x + 2)3 means (x + 2) (x + 2) (x + 2).
F3 = (x)3 = x. x. x = x3
3F2L = 3(x)2 . 2 = 3 . ( x. x ) . 2 = 3(x2) . 2 = 6x2
3FL2 = 3 . x . (2)2 = 3x . 4 = 12x
L3 = (2)3 = 2 . 2 . 2 = 8
= x3 + 6x2 + 12x + 8

4. Example 2. Find the product of (x – 2)3
(x – 2)3 means (x – 2) (x – 2) (x – 2)
F3 = (x)3 = x . x . x = x3
3F2L = 3. (x . x) . -2 = 3 . (x2) . -2 = -6x2
3FL2 = 3 . x . (-2 . -2) =3x . (4) = 12x
L3 = (-2)3 = -2 . -2 . -2 = -8
= x3 – 6x2 + 12x - 8

5. Example 3. Simplify (2x + y)3
(2x + y)3 means (2x + y) (2x + y) (2x + y)
F3 = (2x)3 = 2x . 2x . 2x = 8x3
3F2L = 3 . (2x . 2x) . y = 3.(4x2).y = 12x2y
3FL2 = 3 . 2x . (y . y) = 6x . (y2) = 6xy2
L3 = (y)3 = y . y . y = y3
= 8x3 + 12x2y + 6xy2 + y3
