Eco-Efficient Agriculture The mission of CIAT is to reduce hunger and poverty and improve human health in the tropics through research aimed at increasing the eco-efficiency of agriculture. Eco-efficient agriculture meets environmental, social, and economic needs of the rural poor by being resilient, sustainable, competitive, and profitable. Eco-efficient agriculture delivers sustainable increases in productivity, enhances competitiveness, and leaves a minimum negative ecological footprint.
