PDHPE is one of the six key learning areas taught in primary schools in NSW, focusing on students' wellbeing through social, mental, physical, and spiritual health. It teaches fundamental skills and knowledge about developing relationships, caring for one's body, safety, games, sports, and making healthy choices that can be applied throughout life. PDHPE promotes a nurturing and fun environment for interactive, varied learning.

because…..
PDHPE is one of the six Key Learning Area’s (KLA) taught
in primary schools in NSW. It teaches students about
themselves, their relationships, making healthy
decisions, staying safe and also the importance of physical
activity. It teaches fundamental skills and knowledge that
can be used throughout life.

It is the only KLA that has a holistic
approach of focusing on wellbeing of
students, “inclusive of
social, mental, physical and spiritual
health” (NSW K-6 PDHPE Syllabus).
