The inspection instruments included 2D Automatic image measuring instrument, CMM, pin gauge, etc. We
produced the jig based on drawings provided by customer, and completed the product inspection with
instrument under pre-tightened state. This facilitated us to design the jig according to customer needs in the
following similar projects.

● Strict control for injection molding parameters
Referring to the parameters recommended in material datasheet,
we made small-scale adjustments to meet above quality demand.
In addition, injection molding parameters of each product are
recorded to be referred in future repeated production.
● Customized laser transparency testing instrument
We learned that this injection molding material is also transparent
to ordinary light source, and the laser transparency can be detected
indirectly through the transparency of ordinary light source. We
tailored a special gauge and standardized the quality inspection
procedures. Finally, the top and bottom shells inspected under the
tailored inspection method and testing instrument all meet the
customer’s requirements.
● Modify the design to reinforce the structure;
● Optimize the mold gate to improve the fill pressure and
fiber orientation at deformation position;
● Make pre-deformation to increase or decrease the
material at the deformed position;
● Adjust the cooling lines to improve the cooling effect;
● Adjust the machine to try other combinations of injection
parameters;
● Correct the deformation of jig after injection molding.
With overall evaluation and the simulated analysis, we
decided to try Plan B—Adding a gate to interface position
and sent customer the proposal, which turned out to be
satisfying. After several days work, we improved the
warpage from the initial 1.9mm to 0.5mm, saving more time
and cost in production tooling.

material with COA certificates.
What’s more, we took some samples from
the same aluminum plate of the processed

An automotive prototype is vital for safety testing, which can be
performed throughout the pre-production and validation phases
to evaluate possible failures of the automotive product during
actual use.
This testing is called Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA).
During it, automotive prototypes are placed through different
scenarios and subjected to extreme conditions to identify any
problems that could hamper the use of the product or cause
serious safety concerns to consumers.

17. Due to limited time, we simultaneously design
and manufacture the multifunctional fixture, it
not only completes the assembly welding but
also serves as a checking tool for testing
whether the product is qualified.
The drawing on the left was sent to client to
confirm, and we start the production after getting
their approval. In the subsequent production of
the welding jig, every step is finished with CMM
testing to ensure the accuracy of the tooling.
And after 6 months, the client told us that our
solution of rapid sheet-metal process resulted in
better accuracy than the samples obtained from
mass production factories.
These results are got from CMM testing,
they are all marked green, which means that
all the tolerance are within control values.
The client is a well-known automotive company. Their mass
production supplier could not provide 47 sets of Cross Car Beam
(CCB) as planned, while assembly of the prototype vehicle had to
be started within one month. As a long-term strategic partner, we
were asked to help the client to solve the problem.

● What is Manufacturing Validation Prototype?
The manufacturing validation build uses the intended equipment and machinery to create the final automotive
prototype so that finishing touches can be made before production tooling is engineered.
As an outstanding car parts supplier in Germany, the client has cooperated with several world-famous automobile
manufacturers for years.
They were looking for 30-50 sets of newly-designed water tank of advanced automobile to test the performance.
Material COA was provided as mass production material was required. To complete the performance test soon and
start mass production, the client expected to receive the prototypes in the shortest time.
There is a complex geometry structure with big size, injection molding was the best solution to process it. And the
project was delivered on time.
