An Internship Should be a Requirement
Internship in a college is usually taken by diploma’s students. It held in the last semester.
An internship has so many advantages to the student who take it and has big influence for
student mentality. In this case, many diploma’s students have some problem related confidence.
I mean that not all of student’s have confidence to enter in working world that they will take after
graduate. We all know that confident felling must be any in every student. If they do not have
confidences, it means that they do not ready yet to face the real working world. I think internship
program can solve this problem. An internship should be a requirement because it will train
student’s mentality to interact with many different people, allow students to get a taste of the
working world and make students easier to find a job.
Mentality for students is very important. It build when they get an internship. They will
face a diverse group of people. They must be ready to will interact with bad tempered people,
stolid people and so on. Students will learn how to face it in working. Not only that, but also In
the real working world, student’s have to work together with so many different people. Students
will learn how to solve problem together in a group and keep the egoism when the group have a
problem. Those all will develop qualities and confidence in communication skill.
An internship also will allow the students to get a taste of the real working world.
Students will face new challenges during an internship. For example, they will be used to the
deadline. Then, students will learn how to interact and have communication with boss/

supervisor. As students know that student should distinguish how to communicate with boss and
friend. During internship, students will wear the dress as a real worker. Students will understand
about dress code and proper grooming.
A company will see the candidates of worker that will be working together with the
company. An internship will make it easier to find a job. Because for students who taking
internship will have more point plus (+). It means that students have more skills. The company
also have the network of internship. So, they will consider that the candidates of worker are have
experience in internship or not. The company will hire the worker. So experience in internship is
needed to work in a company. Because students have experience of working before.
Summary, internship is really needed in the real working world. If the student have no
experience in work, it means that they does not ready to face the real working world. is not
impossible that the student will get shocked when they already accepted to work while students
have no work experience.
