Projects
1. Universal Pylon Tester(UPT)
It is a ground equipment designed for testing pylons in defense aircrafts.The system
simulates the functionalities of different PIBs(Pylon Interface Box) and provides
aircraft specific DC voltages, 115VAC/50 Hz and facility to inject discrete inputs,
discrete outputs and check different firing signals. It also provides various
communication interfaces such as RS232, RS422, ethernet etc for testing various
functionalities of aircraft units with the help of GUI. The system was designed as a
portable equipment with caster wheels with all required hardware, power supplies,
and connectors in it.
Roles
a) Worked on Tester Board
Designed a board to test the different functionalities of PIB’s. The board is based
on LPC3250 micro controller.It also uses Spartan 3AN FPGA to memory map the
IO’s.
b) Worked on Mil 1553 Board
Worked on designing MIL1553B Communication card.MIL 1553B is aavionics bus
protocol used to communicate with different subsystems in the aircrafts. It is a
dual redundant bus protocol consisting of Bus controller(BC),Remote
Terminals(RT) and Monitoring Terminal(MT).
c) Worked on Store simulator Board
Designed a store simulator board to verify the voltage levels of the aircraft
weapon firing signals. The board was designed using a 8051 micro controller.
2. A-Scan ultrasound biometry
Amplitude scan(A-Scan) board is a biometric equipment designed to measure the
axial length of aneye. This information is used in the treatment of cataracts.
The measurement was performed using an ultrasonic transducers. An excitation
electrical pulse is generatedfor ultrasonic transducers. The transducer converts
the electrical pulse in to an ultrasonic pulse and transmits to the eye. By
measuring the amplitude and time interval between the transmitted and reflected
pulses.The axial length of the eye is determined.

Designed a board using a LPC3250 controller. A touch screen LCD interface is
provided to display the results and patient diagnosis. The board consists of ADC
to sample and digitize the analog signals. The board also consists of Spartan
FPGA to store the sample values and control various IO’s.
3. Breathalyzer
This system is used todetermine Breath Alcohol Content in a person’s breath
using an alcohol sensor. This system also consists of IRIS recognition technique
to reliably identify a person and transmit the information to a remote station
using a quad band GSMmodule . The system also identifies person’s location
using GPS module.Worked on developing a prototype with all the functionalities.
4. Electronic Interlocking System
It is a SIL-4 (Safety Integrity Level - 4) standard railway signaling equipment
used for the operation of points, signals, level crossing gates, block working with
adjacent station, releasing of crank handle for manual operation of points and
other controls like slots etc.It is a micro processor based equipment.
Designed Discrete Input/Output card, Communication Card(RS485 and Optical
Fiber) and Various Test cards for the Interlocking Systems.

1. Interdisciplinary project : “ Electronic Basketball Score Board (Simulation)”.
Description: Simulation of Electronic Basketball score board was implemented using
8051 microcontroller. The programming was done in keil. The program was then
simulated using circuit simulation tool called Proteus professional.
2. Carried out a project in DRDO (ADE) - “Analysis and Improvement of PCM
telemetry frame Decommutation”.
Description: Analyzing the bit error rate (BER) performance of PCM systems for
receiving telemetry data from aircrafts and improve the reliability of the system by
receiving frames at moderate values of BER. This system was implemented using
VHDL programming.
i. Participated in robotics workshop “isensobotz”.
ii. Participated and won in intra college cultural and Technical events.
iii. Received merit scholarship from CMR Jnanadhara trust.
iv. Participated in NCC(National Cadet Corps) camps and received ‘B’ Certificate.
