Comparing Rosemary Laing And Abdul Abdullah
Both Rosemary Laing and Abdul Abdullah, although they draw from different cultural and historical
experiences represent a common theme in their works. They draw from social injustices and portray
these in controversial and striking works. These topics are often overlooked or ignored, the 'political
correctness' of our society causing us to forget the struggles of other people and the fundamental
issues in our society in regard with treatment of people that are deemed as 'less than ' human or as a
blight on society rather than a useful addition. Abdul presents controversial ideas and themes such
as the discrimination that Muslims face in everyday life, the 'expectation' all Muslims are extremist,
and that they are seen by some as 'less than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
'Journey to the West' is a self–portrait of Abdul himself, wearing a 'monkey mask'. He is places
slightly off centre in a stage set in traditional lavish Muslim wedding style. Abdul created these
work to highlight this treatment of Muslims in his town, but also communities all across Australia.
He created this image to showcase the ignorance of genuine Muslims faith and as how they're
treated as 'inhuman'. The staging of the background references weddings as part of his religious
background but also something universal throughout all cultures, optimism for acceptance in the
future. The beauty of the stage, in stark contrast to the 'monkey mask', a simian mask from the
movie Planet of the Apes. Elements such as line (showed in the flow of the curtains) and colour
(gold symbolising prosperity, red representing passion) the figure has been placed deliberately, a
portrayal of a creature considered 'less than' surrounded by the 'pure opulence' of the lavish wedding
set up. Principles such as balance, emphasis, focal point, repetition, and unity have been heavily
utilised and would've needed careful consideration as the composition is quite significant in the
image. The setting of the stage in such a symmetrical way makes his figure stand

ARTICLE 370: LAWS AND POLITICS
While the Constitution recognises in Article 370 the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, the
Central Government's policies since 1953 have totally undermined its autonomy. Senior lawyer and
political analyst A.G. NOORANI discusses both aspects and suggests a way out of the mess. "I say
with all respect to our Constitution that it just does not matter what your Constitution says; if the
people of Kashmir do not want it, it will not go there. Because what is the alternative? The
alternative is compulsion and coercion..."
"We have fought the good fight about Kashmir on the field of battle... (and) ...in many a chancellery

The order of 1986 purported to apply to the State Article 249, which empowers Parliament to
legislate even on a matter in the State List if a Rajya Sabha resolution so authorises it by a two–
thirds vote. But it so amended Article 249 in its application to Kashmir as in effect to apply Article
248 instead – "any matter specified in the resolution, being a matter which is not enumerated in the
Union List or in the Concurrent List."
The Union thus acquired the power to legislate not only on all matters in the State List, but others
not mentioned in the Union List or the Concurrent List – the residuary power. In relation to other
States, an amendment to the Constitution would require a two–thirds vote by both Houses of
Parliament plus ratification by the States (Article 368). For Kashmir, executive orders have sufficed
since 1953 and can continue till Doomsday. "Nowhere else, as far as I can see, is there any provision
author ising the executive government to make amendments in the Constitution," President Rajendra
Prasad pointed out to Prime Minister Nehru on September 6, 1952. Nowhere else, in the world,
indeed. Is this the state of things we wish to perpetuate? Uniquely Ka shmir negotiated the terms of
its membership of the Union for five months. Article 370 was adopted by the Constituent Assembly
as a result of those parleys.

How Did Osama Bin Laden Influence The World
The world was introduced to Osama bin Laden and his terrorist organization, al' Qaeda on
September 11, 2001. Millions gathered around their televisions in shock at the devastation this
terrorist organization created. Thousands of innocent civilians lost their lives after al' Qaeda
operatives devised and carried out their plans to hijack planes and divert them into key U.S.
landmarks. Osama bin Laden praised the work of his followers and the United States realized just
how serious of a threat al' Qaeda and Osama bin Laden really were. Al' Qaeda had been around for
over a decade prior to 9/11; and bin Laden had declared his hatred for the West, specifically the
United States, during his fatwa's in 1996 and 1998 when he declared a Holy War ... Show more

radicalized view of the world and extreme his religious ideals began to shape his political views. By
the late seventies, bin Laden was actively involved with the extremist group and joined in "the
jihad" (holy war) against the Soviets when they invaded Afghanistan in 1979. Bin Laden used his
connections and wealth to help finance and support recruitment and training of jihads against the
Soviets, in addition to developing a "Golden Chain" of financiers that helped fund recruits into
Afghanistan. During this time, the United States and Saudi Arabia were spending billions of dollars
of assistance into training rebels in Afghanistan in order to fight against the Soviets. It was during
this time that bin Laden and his associate Abdullah Azzam created Al 'Qaeda (the base). The U.S.
was unaware that they were providing training and secret assistance to a future enemy. The Soviets
finally pulled out of Afghanistan in 1989, but bin Laden and his associate had already decided that
al 'Qaeda would not dissolve. Azzam was killed later that year, and bin Laden became head of the
organization. The organization remained relatively underground whilst it prepared for its fight
against the West. The tipping point for Osama bin Laden was when Iraq invaded Kuwait and the

The Role Of English On The Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia
PROSPECTUS
Background of the Project
The role of English in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: Languages have a prominent status in all
societies and in all developed and developing countries. The languages take this status because they
are devices for communicating between humans. In many countries, there is more than one language
that the people speak. In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for example, the Arabic language is the
official language in the country, and the English language is the second language that the citizens
speak. The English language has a remarkable role in various sectors in the Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia.
First, the English language has an important role in the education system. Dr. Al–Seghayer points
out (2012), "It is the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alhaisoni & Rahman (2013) state, "English language is playing an important role in both electronic
and print media in Saudi Arabia" (p.114). The country has many TV stations, and one of these
stations has all English content. Also, it has a radio station, which has many English programs.
Finally, English has a big role in the employment system in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Al–
seghayer (2012) asserts, "competence in and knowledge of English opens doors for Saudi citizens
and gives the rank–and file employees" opportunity for advancement (p.2). The country has many
private companies that are established by foreign people who speak the English language
professionally, and they are demanding employees who speak and write English. So, English is
important to employment in Saudi Arabia.
History of English teaching and methodology: Teaching English in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
has undergone several changes. The starting of teaching English was in 1925 (Liton, 2012). This
starting point was different between public schools and private schools. First, the government
established public schools, and the Ministry of Education managed them. As a result, these schools
do not charge any tuition to the people who live in Saudi Arabia. The English language was taught
from seventh grade to twelfth grade in public schools. The method of teaching English in public

Essay Political Unrest in Yemen, Terrorism, and America
The U.S. has a tough stance when it comes to terrorism, especially in regions where terrorist groups
look to take advantage of a people or a situation. In this paper I hope to answer questions pertaining
to how the political unrest in Yemen began, how Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula were formed
and what effects they have in the region as well as the implications to American policies and
interests in the Horn of Africa area. Yemen is a poor and unstable state where the political and social
problems are an issue that some groups will look to exploit while others have a vested interest in
stability. An analysis of the past and present political, economic and social issues in Yemen reveals
two major issues: The ability for terrorist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A civil war would ensue with the revolutionaries having the support of the Egyptians and the USSR
and the royalist receiving support from Saudi Arabia and Jordan until the eventual defeat of the
royalists in 1969. This would give way to a Republican government and the rise of current President
of Yemen, Ali Abdullah Saleh in 1990.
Britain controlled and occupied the south during the civil war in the north. In the 1960s the National
Liberation Front (NLF) would fight the British and with Soviet influence, the southern portion of
Yemen would become the first and only Marxist state in the Arab world winning independence in
1967. In 1990, the poor conditions and economic decay of the south would lead to a merger which
would form what we know today as The Republic of Yemen. The former leaders in the south would
find their way north in order to play a role in the newly formed government, but the current
President Saleh, who would retain his position in the newly formed state, would consistently
overlook them. The lack of representation and the steady decline of living conditions in southern
Yemen would reach a boiling point, and, in 1994 another civil war would be fought on Yemen soil,
only this time the battle was amongst the Yemeni people. Infuriated about differences over power
sharing and the relative pace of integration, southern Yemen would call for

Islamic Extremism And The United States
For many Americans, September 11th 2001 gave insight for the first time about Islamic extremism
and that even America was vulnerable to attacks on a grand scale. Aside from promoting fear among
Americans, the motivations backing the attacks and the messages expressed thereafter through
broadcasted beheadings, kidnappings, suicide bombings, and other attempted attacks in and outside
of United States borders have attracted some American citizens to join the global jihad. In recent
months, the Al Qaeda splinter group ISIS have made headlines for their recruitment of American
citizens unbiased of age, gender, or ethnicity. In fact, associations to the group inside the United
States are targeting individuals to join the cause. To understand why the idea of radical Islam is so
appealing to individuals, it is important to first identify the history and grievances associated with
the west that created the foundation for their religious ideology, ultimately leading to the only
course of action being violence. With their grievances towards the West builing up long before that
fateful day in September 2001, and how the opportunity of utilizing the internet and media to spread
their message globally, at the click of a mouse. (FIX THIS!!!!!!!!) "what was once an obscure
movement on the other side of the world has become the subject of unprecedented attention." The
beginnings of the global jihad (religious war) started long before September 11th 2001. When the

The Modern Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Essay
Introduction
The modern Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was established by the King Abdulaziz bin Abdelrahman Al–
Saud in 1932 (Al–Turaiqi, 2008; Albassam, 2011; BTI, 2012; Hamzawy, 2006; Peterson, 1984; UN,
2004). Saudi is a big country with 13 provinces (mintaqah) and 1,600, 000 km2 (Albassam, 2011;
UN, 2004). Saudi has the largest reserves of oil in the world (UN, 2004). The political system in
Saudi is Monarchy since the day of Unification of the Kingdom (23 September, 1932) (Al–Turaiqi,
2008; Albassam, 2011; BTI, 2012; Chatham, 2011; Hamzawy, 2006; Matthes, Otto, & Schützhold,
2007; Peterson, 1984; UN, 2004). This profoundly traditional kingdom has "undergone
socioeconomic transformation" to the level perhaps no resembling anywhere else in the ... Show

Moreover, Saudi legal system is mainly based on Quran and Sunnah, however daily life
administration matters are managed by "promulgate regulations" (Matthes, et al., 2007; UN, 2004).
The full draft of all administrative regulations (called Nizam) was compiled first during the days of
King Fahd in 1992 (Al–Turaiqi, 2008; Albassam, 2011; UN, 2004). King Fahd with those
regulations started to establish a state with written and clear laws that are necessary to build a
modern country. Political System of Saudi Arabia consists of judicial authority, executive authority
and
Organizational authority (Hamzawy, 2006; Matthes, et al., 2007). Traditionally, the king has the
executive and legislative authorities; this means that the king has judicial power in the land (Al–
Turaiqi, 2008; Albassam, 2011; Matthes, et al., 2007). The king's power is controlled by Islamic law,
seeking consensus among royal family members, religious leaders, and the leaders of important
tribal families (Al–Turaiqi, 2008; Matthes, et al., 2007; Peterson, 1984; UN, 2004). However Saudi
since 1990s started to add some modern touches to its political system to get along with the
economic and social changes in the kingdom (Albassam, 2011; Peterson, 1984). The major
components of Saudi political are listed in the study of (Peterson, 1984) as follows:
– Tribalism: Saudi society has deep tribal roots, actually the royal family

Militancy in Yemen
The militant groups related to al–Qaeda have gained considerable strength in the southern region of
Yemen. These militant groups are reported to be stronger than the country's military, and this can be
seen from the level of the expansion made by the militancy. During his regime, Ali Abdullah Saleh
described Yemen as "an island in a sea of al–Qaeda" (Raghavan). In late February of 2012, a regime
change happened in Yemen as Saleh stepped down from the presidency, and Hadi was elected the
new president in a one candidate election. In the midst of the Arab Spring movement to the transfer
of power from Saleh to Hadi and the present situations in Yemen, the Islamist militant groups have
garnered greater control over some of the state's southern ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

All this has been handed down by the last president of Yemen, Saleh. There is some parallelism that
exists between the rise of economic problems and the rise of support for militant groups in several
Muslim nations. This is because non–affordability, starvation, and preoccupation about the future,
may lead some to join or support the cause of the militant groups. Since there are a lot of
institutional weaknesses in Yemen, its people can be swayed towards the opinions of these so–called
Sharia following groups. For example, aside from the Abyan province, the al–Qaeda militant groups
expanded to the neighboring province of Shabwa. Over there, the militant groups, i.e. Ansar al–
Sharia, have succeeded in implementing stricter codes of Islamic law (Raghavan). Their expansion
and success in implementing "Sharia" shows that they must have established institutions that
enforce the Sharia. This is possible in a state as weak as Yemen, because its state controlled
institutions lack effectiveness and efficiency due to the corruption of the government under Saleh.
The militant groups discovered their opportunistic moment to spread during the Arab Spring
movement to the political transition in Yemen. The protests and international support against Saleh's
corrupt and ineffective regime resulted in his deposition. Despite being granted immunity, tensions
between the "loyals" of Saleh, the

Abdullah Kurdi Research Paper
"Everything I was dreaming of is gone." Those are the words of Abdullah Kurdi, whose wife and
two children drowned after the small boat that was supposed to take them from Turkey to the Greek
island of Kos had capsized. Abdullah Kurdi was ultimately trying to get his family to a better life in
Canada when it all went wrong and he lost everything. Since Alan Kurdi's little body washed up on
a Turkish beach on September 3, his photos have taken the world by storm.
Abdullah, his wife Rehen, and their two sons, Alan, 3, and Galib, 5, were living in Kobani, the
Syrian city on the border between Syria and Turkey, before it was ridden of people by Islamic State
extremists. The family fled to Turkey with the end goal of reaching Canada and reuniting with
Abdullah's sister, Tima Kurdi, a Vancouver hairdresser. Tima Kurdi had been trying to bring her two
brothers, Abdullah and Mohammed, and their families to Canada. With the help of an NDP member
of Parliament, Tima sent in papers for her brother Mohammed and his family. The Immigration
Department released a statement on September 3, saying that Mohammed's application had been
denied because "it was incomplete as it did not meet regulatory requirements for proof of refugee
status recognition." ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Movement Has A History By Melina Abdullah
In order to spread awareness of institutionalized racism in America, Melina Abdullah discusses the
foundation of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement, and how the corrupt police and
governmental systems affect people of color (specifically African Americans) in her piece "The
Movement Has a History". Institutionalized racism is so horrifically ingrained in American society
due to the disgusting and inhumane ways of the past–– and present. The United States of America
prides itself on being the land of the free; however, to juxtapose this, let us look back on the history
of POC in America: the mass slaughtering and forced migration of the Native Americans, the
enslavement of Africans and African Americans for centuries, the formation of the Ku Klux Klan for
the purpose of terrorizing and murdering POC, the lynching and forced deportation of Hispanic
people in the 1800s – 1900s, the denial of rightful citizenship of Asian Americans in the 1970s
(along with Japanese Americans forcibly being placed in internment camps), antisemitism and
denial of Jewish immigration into the US during the Holocaust, Islamophobia in the late 1900s –
current day, the murderous marches of Neo–Nazis (and the lack of condemnation from the
American government for their horrific actions), and so much more.

There were multiple similarities but at the same time, some of them learned new meanings of

The Attractive Factors Of Home Based Business
t is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore the growing importance women role in the global
economy. During the last decade most of women around the world who become financial
independent have done so by starting their own business. One of the studies about women running
their business found that (percentage of women running their business in different countries). In
fact, women Entrepreneurs tend to have home–based business (HBBs). This means that they are
running their business from home due to a lot of reasons. For example, Saudi women entrepreneurs
face plenty of restrictions by government laws, customs and traditions such as not allowed to drive
or working with men. In addition, most of them must have a male representative to deal door–to–
door with the government agencies (Minkus–McKenna,2009). Furthermore, they beat the difficulty
to obtain financial funding to start their own business. However, all of these restrictions could not
stop women business to develop. This essay aims to explore some of the attractive factors of home–
based business (HBBs) to Saudi women. It will attempt to show that lower costs, better work–life
balance and e–marketing might be the main attractive elements for Saudi women to run their

Within 2020, Saudi government has a plan to reach 4% of the renewable energy of total national
energy use, that is 3,450 MW [2]. In addition, Saudi government has invested more in renewable
energy technologies in the last two years in order to achieve these objectives.
King Abdullah City for Atomic & Renewable Energy (K.A.CARE) is the Saudi center that is
responsible to accomplish the above objectives within 2020. K.A.CARE plans to build an energy
mix program that can achieve the 4% of the renewable energy of total national energy use target,
and develop the technical knowledge and expertise in renewable energy technology [2]. Currently,
K.A.CARE has studies and projects of potential development and use of microgrids. Unfortunately,
Saudi Electrical and Cogeneration Regulatory Authority (ECRA), that is responsible to establish
energy standards, still does not have standards for distributed resources (DR) or microgrids [3].
Therefore, there is a need to establish a standard of microgrids soon to let K.A.CARE and other
research and technical institutes are able to successfully achieve their deliverables. In fact, there are
several standards around the world, such as IEEE 1547 standard, that ECRA can adopt or use it to
build their own standard.
In this paper, IEEE 1547.4 standard (2011) is selected to propose microgrid standards for ECRA
especially standard of stability of microgrids in different modes.

Municipal election is a new system in Saudi Arabia. The first municipal election took place in 2005

listening to inappropriate music, and barely passing the dress code for women are part of her
tomboy rebellious personality. When she is walking to school with her male friend, Abdullah, she

mom about the idea of the bike and her mom disapproves immediately saying that if she gets a bike
it will effect her childbearing abilities. With her family being middle class, there was no way she

Shandun's Journey
Shudun had lived in Syria her whole life, 12 years, and could not imagine leaving her home. Her
home, which was facing oppression due to extremist groups and a civil war, was not safe anymore
although that concept of not being safe did not come easy to Shudun. Shudun's life was originally
safe, or at least it felt safe to her, but soon after her brother's life was taken away. Shudun
understood what war meant. She had not previously been conscious of what it entailed to lose
someone, especially during a war which her brother was not meant to fight in but soon after his
death, Sundun began to become self–conscious of what was happening around her, and it was not
good. Sundun's parents, Jamilah and Saad, were faced with a difficult decision: to ... Show more

those hours then she had in entire life. Shudun was powerful. Next came the hunger strike among
the refugees, gaining media attention painting for the first time in a while, the refugees in a positive
light. People were becoming empathic to the refugees and began to urge Turkey to increase the
influx of refugees coming into the country. Although Shudun was not responsible for all of this, she

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the president of Turkey, increased the quota of refugees allowed in Turkey.
Shudun and her family were first on the list of those allowed in. Although this was a positive first
step forward for the refugees, Shundun was not yet satisfied but she was happy that she had a future.
She had sparked a movement for people to look at refugees with sympathy rather than animosity.

Influencing Violence, Inspiring Fear Essay
Influencing Violence, Inspiring Fear
World renowned speaker and author John C. Maxwell has sold over eighteen million books that
highlight the most important aspect of leadership. He is responsible for the training of over five
million leaders in over one–hundred countries and developed several key leadership theories,
including "the seven factors that influence" (Maxwell, 2013). What Maxwell's factors do not include
is the intent or application of this influence, be it for good or evil. The application of each seven
factors is significant in the leadership traits of Osama bin Laden, the face and former leader of the
Sunni Islamist militant terror group Al–Qaeda. Bin Laden's use of character, relationships,
knowledge, intuition, experience, past success and ability, not only inspired the terror group Al–
Qaeda, but drastically increased the world's fear of terrorism.
Character – "True leadership always begins with the inner person" (John Maxwell)
For the majority of the free world, the character of Osama Bin Laden is relative to the attacks of
September 11th, 2001. In the years to follow, the evidence collected as a result of a worldwide,
multinational manhunt, revealed the complexity of the Al–Qaeda leader. In her published memoirs,
former wife of bin Laden, Najwa bin Laden claims her husband had conflicting personalities
(Farmer, 2009). Najwa cited her husband as a disciplinarian who would often beat their (his)
children for displaying to much joy, laughing too much

India and Pakistan Negotiations
There have been numerous negotiations taken place between India and Pakistan since 1947. They
have ranged from inconsequential issues such as Border Railway Crossing and Time Tables to
highly disputatious ones like National Security interests including Nuclear Confidence building
measures and to the highly infamous Kashmir issue.
Before discussing the negotiations which occurred over the Kashmir issue, we need to know the
origin of the Kashmir problem!
A Walk into the History
After the departure of the British Empire from the Indian Subcontinent, it led to the formation of
two different countries– India and Pakistan along religious lines (Hinduism and Islam). (Kux, 87)
These two new dominions had around 650 states run by princes. Theoretically these states had the
option of choosing either of the countries or remain independent. By remaining independent they
would have let monarchy leap over democracy. These 'independent' states were advised by the
British Government to get associated with either of the two dominions keeping in view the
geographical and other relevant considerations, for the sole purpose of securing their defence,
foreign relations and other specified matters.
One of these newly independent states was Kashmir, which according to its geographical
positioning had the option of choosing either of the two dominions but there lied a problem which
was, the ruler of Kashmir was a Hindu believer but the majority of the population in Kashmir was
Muslim. Being

In December of 2015, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced that it had formed a coalition of 34
primarily Muslim countries to coordinate a fight against terrorist organizations (Saud Arabia
forms..., 2015; What the Saudis can do..., 2015). The alliance was announced by Mohammed bin
Salman, the Kingdom's defense minister and deputy crown prince. The coalition was described as
including countries such as Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Pakistan, Malaysia, and
Nigeria but questions directed to government officials in Pakistan revealed that they had no idea that
they were part of this alliance and no Shi'ite majority states were invited (Saudi Arabia forms
coalition..., 2015). Should it come to fruition, this coalition would be focused largely on terrorism
and its atrocities which spread Shari'a forbidden corruption and destruction (Saudi Arabia forms
coalition..., 2015). As described by Khal (2015), the Saudi response also includes actions
undertaken by the Interior and Education Ministries which are scrutinizing activities within the
Kingdom. With the addition of Malaysia to the coalition, the Saudis are forging a global alliance
against extremism in all its forms (Rahim, 2016).
At issue herein is an overview of the Saudi position and the specific efforts that it is undertaking in a
struggle against extremism. An overview of the issue is included along with a description of specific

The Effect Of Conflict: The Conflict Of Kashmir, And Kashmir
Conflict Jammu and Kashmir is being contested by India and Pakistan as their integral part since
1947. The conflict of Kashmir started at the time of the partition of the subcontinent into two
countries, India and Pakistan in 1947. It was decided that the Muslim majority states will accede to
Pakistan and the Hindu majority states will go to India. Jammu and Kashmir despite being a Muslim
majority state had to accede to India by the virtue of instrument of accession signed between the
Maharaja and Lord Mount Batten, the then Governor General of India (Schofield, 2010).The
problem of Jammu and Kashmir could have only been solved through a plebiscite which the then

Effect of Conflict: In Kashmir the conflict caused damage of a huge magnitude in terms of loss of
human lives, destruction of infrastructure, detention of civilians, gendered violence in the form of
rape and sexual harassment, torture and extra judicial executions. All the institutions were disrupted
which had a direct impact on people. According to MSF there is hardly any family in Kashmir that
has not been affected by the conflict (Jarundi, 2002). Almost all the people have suffered in such a
way which is beyond the endurance of common people (Amin & Khan, 2009).The direct impact
caused by the conflict is just the 'tip of an iceberg'. The conflict comes with lot of other
consequences as well which are not well documented very often (Murthy & Lakshminarayana,

extent documented like Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Traumatic events which one

Background Information : Osama Bin Laden
2. Background Information
2.1. Childhood
Osama bin Laden was born in 1957 in Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh. He was one of around 50
children fathered by Mohammad bin Laden, a Yemeni immigrant who owned the largest
construction company in Saudi Arabia. (Johnson & Rowen, n.d.)
His mother, Hamida al–Attas, married Mohammad bin Laden when she was twenty–two and
according to many sources she was his eleventh wife. (Zalman, n.d.) His father died in a helicopter
accident in 1969 when Osama bin Laden was eleven and he ended up inheriting a huge sum of
money from the father. (The Telegraph, 2012)
He attended school in Saudi Arabia. In 1970, at the age of 13 he started to attend Al–Thager Model
School which was one of the more prestigious schools in the country. He later went on to study in
the management and economics faculty at the King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah. (Palmer, 2011)
2.2. Exposure to Islamic teachings
His father, Mohammad bin Laden, was a devoted Muslim and his children had to obey the religious
code that was observed by him. Osama bin Laden thus grew up in an environment where Muslim
teachings was a norm. Furthermore, during his time in secondary and university, he joined the
Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood was seen as a trend by his peers during that period
of time. (Frontline, n.d.)

Kashmir Issue
I remember when I used to leave my home for school early in the morning & my mom used to

Freedom, for Kashmir, is a search for the lost identity of its rich cultural & religious class of

Britishers gave independence to India without thinking that they have ruled India for Decades. Why
cannot India give Independence to Kashmir so that thousands of lives could be saved?
Indian Govt. has been claiming for years that Kashmir is their integral part & cares for its own
people. Now the question is why the politicians are interested in ripping the article 370 from
Kashmir & why innocent people are being killed on a daily basis– as if they have any sales target
(KILLING PEOPLE) to achieve per day or month? Govt. agencies are trying to destabilize the
economy of Kashmir and shatter the only hope Kashmiris have.
The entire world is of the opinion today that the best solution to the problem of Kashmir is to allow
them to make their own choice. Why not Referendum? Trust me they have only two choices, either
INDIA or INDEPENDENT KASHMIR.
The problem arose from the day the British through its East India Company wanted to establish its
rule over India for which in order to improve its economy sold Kashmir for a meager Rs.75 lacks to
then Dogra Ruler, Maharaja Hari Singh under Amritsar Treaty. This led to "QUIT KASHMIR"
movement for a long period.
During the course of time, India & Pakistan got liberated from the British in 1947. However, 642
princely states of United India were given the right to exercise option of either joining India or
Pakistan. On 26th October, 1947 the state of Jammu and Kashmir was accessioned to India and this

Making My Dream Into A Reality
Lying rather uncomfortably on my bed while facing the bright ceiling lights, I fidgeted nervously,
desperately trying to ignore the gloominess of the situation. I attempted to focus on staying warm in
a bitterly cold room, but a few thoughts kept running through my mind. As a child, I grew up
watching American films and as a result, have always been fascinated by the United States and more
so by its people and its unique culture. Living in Hollywood and brushing shoulders with celebrities
was a part of my dream as I was growing up. Thus, over the years I have taken steps to make my
dream into a reality. As a high school student, I realized that the mustard seed I had once planted
was becoming a huge tree. Therefore, in my senior year, I started looking for a major to pursue and
a school to attend. Making these decisions was the hardest and most stressful period in my lifetime,
but my well and perseverance to take the right steps towards a successful life and a carrier kept me
going. Having the support of my parents and sisters gave me the confidence, which played an
important role in achieving what I have achieved thus far and will continue to achieve in the future.
For students from my country to study abroad, they need to achieve specific scores in particular
tests. These tests are similar to the SAT and ACT in the United States. In Saudi, however, these tests
are called Qdrat and Scholastic Achievement Admission Test (Science). These results are being used

"Come back, and scream as you want and break all the vases.
Steal all the flowers.
Come back...

The pale, flaky walls echoed with dismay, how do we find hope in these walls, thought Amir. His
gaze was fixed at the wall in front of him. A map of the state of Kashmir hanging in the center,
protected in a glass frame.
"What brings you here?" The bearded man who looked like a muezzin questioned him. He was
sitting on the wooden bench next to him. His deep brown eyes and a thick northern accent reminded
Amir of his grandfather. But Amir's grandfather had died even before he was born. Was it a disease?
Or just natural death? But if death is natural, why are we afraid of it? He wondered
Amir took out a notebook from the jute bag that he was carrying, and systematically placed inside
the notebook was a picture. The last remaining picture of his elder brother.
"Have you seen him?" Amir asked the old man as he presented him the picture. A blue background
complimented the red pullover that his brother, who resembled Amir in many ways, was wearing
that October evening.
"How many boys have I watched in the past twenty years?" he said, staring at the picture
impassively. "For three years I've been standing outside official buildings, jails, and morgues,
waiting for them to open their doors. And every door I have knocked has presented me with ten
thousand photos. Sometimes I feel that every picture I watch is the same,

Summary: The Perfect Islamic Community
Muslims believe that Mohammed had created the perfect Islamic community when he lived in
Medina. This community combined a government and religion. Those who followed him, agreed on
the new faith and followed the Quran. They felt it was critical to acknowledge Mohammed as God's
prophet. Problems soon arose. Leaderships were questioned and a war began. One group felt that the
community should select the leadership while the other group believed that Ali, Mohammed's
cousin and son–in–law, were the only leaders. The Muslim community split. Sunnis believed that
four Guided Caliphs were the successors to Mohammed. The Shi'ites only saw Ali as the only
successor. Ali followers were not happy. The Umayyads, Uthman's family, felt that they represented

Analysis Of The Umar Abdullah Johnson Theory Of Black Male...
The Umar Abdullah–Johnson Theory of Black Male Alienation posits that a five–stage cycle of
institutional repression exists that has effectively sent more black men to jail than it has to college.
Any attempt to reverse this war against America's most misunderstood population begins with a
firm analysis of the process and its origins in boyhood. Americans, including Blacks, have become
so desensitized to the pain of Black boys and so expectant of their failures that their pain is often
overlooked and their achievements treated like occasional glitches in a system that has successfully
made Black boys a permanent underclass in this country. "But the color of a Negro 's skin makes
him easily recognizable, makes him suspect, converts him into a defenseless target" (Richard
Wright, Black Boy) Mis–education often begins at birth. The average first day of life for Black
children is when they become subjected to self–hatred and self–hating messages about themselves.
They're often getting messages about themselves that is directly or indirectly coming from the white
culture. From the first day they are brought into this world, the mis–education and the self–hatred
towards our babies starts right then and there. It starts to increase in preschool because in preschool,
for those that decide to send their child to preschool, this will be the first time that the Black boy
comes face to face with the School guidelines of the American social order where he is expected to

Women Of Saudi Women 's Rights
Mohammed Ashgan Profesor Stimpson RHET 110–17 17 October 2014
Saudi Women's Rights
Should women be allowed to drive cars in Saudi Arabia? On the first page of the first chapter of
everything's an argument, the author states about "It (The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) is the only
country in the world, which forbids women to drive." The first thing one should know when
discussing this issue is that the country of Saudi Arabia operates under strict "sharia" laws that are
an interpretation of Sunni Islam, so they do not follow conventional human rights when dealing with
women in the country. This is an Islamic country that believes in upholding its religion and forces
its people to adhere to teachings of the Quran. Judges face challenges when hearing cases because
they have to follow the interpretation of Sunni Islam when determining legality of a case. In other
words; Religion is the law. However, the Global Gender Gap report ranked them among the last 5
countries out 134 that have gender parity. Does this mean that Islam is a religion which is bias to
males and oppressive of females? But how can that be if all other muslim countries allow their
women to drive? Their seems to be an inconsistency that makes this gender equality issue is highly
controversial.
Women should and will be allowed to drive cars in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's near future
simply because there are no valid religious or cultural reasons for them not to. They also deserve to
be rid of many constraints and

Abdullah 's Team Accused The Second Round Of The Election...
Abdullah's team accused both the IEC and Ashraf Ghani's team in an "industrial scale" fraud and
argued that the second round of the election was stolen (Latifi 2014). They further added to their
argument that the eastern and southern regions of Afghanistan were hotbeds of occupancy by the
Taliban and people were too afraid for their lives to come out and vote. In Khost 97.09% and in
Paktia 91.9% votes were casted in favor of Ashraf Ghani (IEC website 2014). Abdullah's team
argued that that the eastern and southern provinces compared to the north and central provinces
should have less percentage of voter turnout due to the security reasons in these parts of the country.
However, the eastern and southern regions of the Afghanistan where Taliban were most active, these
regions had voted in large numbers compared to regions where there had none or low security
threats. However, Ashraf Ghani's team argued that the high turnout in these regions were due to their
excellent campaign strategies and the help from tribal leaderships on these regions (Trofimov 2014).
Tensions over the result of 2014 election produced an ambiguous situation that had no obvious
solution in the first sight. In the beginning, the two rival parties did not consider other options to end
their dispute except declaring themselves as winners of the presidential race. The situation was so
intense that each party blamed the other as the cheater and warned of the consequences over the
election fraud (Bose 2014).

Summary Of ' I 'm Abdullah '
A young man, around his twenties in jeans and a travel–worn jacket worked his way down the aisle
of the classroom looking for an empty seat. As he wrestled his backpack through the seats he finally

"I'm Abdullah." Trying to gather his things to make extra room for Alex, Abdullah closed his book

"Yeah pretty good."
"what does your name mean?" Alex asked eagerly

History of Malaysian Cooperation
A. Case Study
Tense ambivalence under Mahathir
During Mahathir's premiership (1981–2003), Malaysia enjoyed a cooperative relationship with the
US on economic and security fronts. Politically, however, there has been much tension between the
two states.
On the economic front, the US has been one of Malaysia's most important trading partners. In
Mahathir's final year as prime minister, the volume of two–way trade amounted to US$34,352.5
million , with the balance of trade in Malaysia's favour.
Additionally, Malaysia has traditionally relied on US foreign investments, particularly during the
former state's rapid economic mobilisation from the 1970s to the end of the 1990s. Malaysia, a
former colonial state which inherited a dwindling, natural resource–dependent economy from the
British, achieved unprecedented rate of growth under Mahathir's developmental strategy. Malaysia's
economic development achieved its zenith in the 1990s, hailed by the World Bank as an `economic
miracle' in the developing world. During this course of development, the US played a pivotal role
via its foreign investments. For instance, US investments in Malaysia tripled between 1990 and
2000, from US$1.5 billion to US$6 billion, of which 57% was in manufacturing, 21% in petroleum
and natural resources, and 22% in services and related industries.
In terms of security, Malaysia under Mahathir has seen much cooperation with the US in matters of
counter–terrorism. Malaysia had become a vital partner in

Mahatma Gandhi And Osama Bin Laden Essay
History has shown many times that a single human being is capable of vast influence among people
and/or a society, especially for religious purposes. Generally, when people think about influential
leaders tied to a religion, they think of the great leaders that strived for peace and equality for all,
such as Mahatma Gandhi. Justly, the big religious figures who were not so great for the world are
often not given any credit for being the influential, strong leaders that they were, such as Osama Bin
Laden. Obviously no one wants to give props to someone who negatively impacted the world but
many times these evil leaders are very similar to their opposites. Morals must be disregarded to
make this comparison but it is worth making. As previously mentioned, the comparison going to be
made is of polar opposites; Mahatma Gandhi and Osama Bin Laden. They both greatly influenced
and affected the world based on actions they took because of their religious beliefs. One practiced
Ahimsa, who preached non–violence, and the other one Jihad, who fought a war with non–believers.
But which of their two messages was more successful; non–violence or violence? Not successful in
regards to humanity or morals, but in influence, leadership, and how long their message resonated.
Both religious figures will be evaluated from their beginnings in order to see all their influences and
intentions, as well as the situations they were put in that pushed them to make the moves the did.

Terrorism And The Middle East And Muslims
Terrorism has been around since the early to late 11th century and it is directly related to the Middle
East and Muslims. The Hashshashin (roughly translated as the "Assassins") arose as an offspring of
the Isma 'ili sect of Shia Muslims. It was led by man named Hassan–i Sabbah and it opposed the
Fatimid rule. The Hashshashin group then seized Alamut and other strongholds across Persia. At the
time, Hashshashin forces were too small to go to war conventionally, so they assassinated city
governors and military commanders in order to create alliances with powerful militaristic neighbors.

The Rights Of Women And Education
A sufficient education is something that Westerner's like myself, have taken for granted for a long
time. It's easy to, in all honesty, because we have been raised in a society in which education has
been held at the utmost importance. In the United States women are held at an equal level with men,
we've fought for this sense of equality for several years and unfortunately, not all women across the
world have had that same success. Women from other countries do not have half of the rights that
we do here in the United States, and this is something that we seem to never really think about.
Saudi Arabia is just one of the many countries around the world in which the women do not have as
many rights as men do. Being a feminist at heart with a hunger for education, it piqued my interest
to research the rights of women and education in Saudi Arabia. If I'm being honest, I had expected it
to be much worse than it is, yet it could be so much better at the same time. Saudi women should
have every right to educate themselves in any aspect they want, and though they have fought their

country in Southeast Asia with a population of approximately twenty–seven million people. Of that
twenty–seven million people, it is estimated that 30% of them are migrant workers. ("Saudi Arabia

With the methodology of new century, the creating Saudi Arabia is requiring better trained and more
much taught men and ladies than any other time in recent memory ever. The quickly developing

my biology teachers once remarked because of my steady questioning that I was an amazingly
inquisitive student and a joy to have in class. At the point when in the ninth grade we started
studying the three sciences autonomously, I added to an uncommon fondness towards biology and

Comparing Rosemary Laing And Abdul Abdullah

  • 1. Comparing Rosemary Laing And Abdul Abdullah Both Rosemary Laing and Abdul Abdullah, although they draw from different cultural and historical experiences represent a common theme in their works. They draw from social injustices and portray these in controversial and striking works. These topics are often overlooked or ignored, the 'political correctness' of our society causing us to forget the struggles of other people and the fundamental issues in our society in regard with treatment of people that are deemed as 'less than ' human or as a blight on society rather than a useful addition. Abdul presents controversial ideas and themes such as the discrimination that Muslims face in everyday life, the 'expectation' all Muslims are extremist, and that they are seen by some as 'less than ... He is places slightly off centre in a stage set in traditional lavish Muslim wedding style. Abdul created these work to highlight this treatment of Muslims in his town, but also communities all across Australia. He created this image to showcase the ignorance of genuine Muslims faith and as how they're treated as 'inhuman'. The staging of the background references weddings as part of his religious background but also something universal throughout all cultures, optimism for acceptance in the future. The beauty of the stage, in stark contrast to the 'monkey mask', a simian mask from the movie Planet of the Apes. Elements such as line (showed in the flow of the curtains) and colour (gold symbolising prosperity, red representing passion) the figure has been placed deliberately, a portrayal of a creature considered 'less than' surrounded by the 'pure opulence' of the lavish wedding set up. Principles such as balance, emphasis, focal point, repetition, and unity have been heavily utilised and would've needed careful consideration as the composition is quite significant in the image. The setting of the stage in such a symmetrical way makes his figure stand ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Article 370 ARTICLE 370: LAWS AND POLITICS While the Constitution recognises in Article 370 the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, the Central Government's policies since 1953 have totally undermined its autonomy. Senior lawyer and political analyst A.G. NOORANI discusses both aspects and suggests a way out of the mess. "I say with all respect to our Constitution that it just does not matter what your Constitution says; if the people of Kashmir do not want it, it will not go there. Because what is the alternative? The alternative is compulsion and coercion..." "We have fought the good fight about Kashmir on the field of battle... The order of 1986 purported to apply to the State Article 249, which empowers Parliament to legislate even on a matter in the State List if a Rajya Sabha resolution so authorises it by a two– thirds vote. But it so amended Article 249 in its application to Kashmir as in effect to apply Article 248 instead – "any matter specified in the resolution, being a matter which is not enumerated in the Union List or in the Concurrent List." The Union thus acquired the power to legislate not only on all matters in the State List, but others not mentioned in the Union List or the Concurrent List – the residuary power. In relation to other States, an amendment to the Constitution would require a two–thirds vote by both Houses of Parliament plus ratification by the States (Article 368). For Kashmir, executive orders have sufficed since 1953 and can continue till Doomsday. "Nowhere else, as far as I can see, is there any provision author ising the executive government to make amendments in the Constitution," President Rajendra Prasad pointed out to Prime Minister Nehru on September 6, 1952. Nowhere else, in the world, indeed. Is this the state of things we wish to perpetuate? Uniquely Ka shmir negotiated the terms of its membership of the Union for five months. • 3. How Did Osama Bin Laden Influence The World The world was introduced to Osama bin Laden and his terrorist organization, al' Qaeda on September 11, 2001. Millions gathered around their televisions in shock at the devastation this terrorist organization created. Thousands of innocent civilians lost their lives after al' Qaeda operatives devised and carried out their plans to hijack planes and divert them into key U.S. landmarks. Osama bin Laden praised the work of his followers and the United States realized just how serious of a threat al' Qaeda and Osama bin Laden really were. Al' Qaeda had been around for over a decade prior to 9/11; and bin Laden had declared his hatred for the West, specifically the United States, during his fatwa's in 1996 and 1998 when he declared a Holy War ... During this time, Islam became more than just a religion to bin Laden, he began to adopt a more radicalized view of the world and extreme his religious ideals began to shape his political views. By the late seventies, bin Laden was actively involved with the extremist group and joined in "the jihad" (holy war) against the Soviets when they invaded Afghanistan in 1979. Bin Laden used his connections and wealth to help finance and support recruitment and training of jihads against the Soviets, in addition to developing a "Golden Chain" of financiers that helped fund recruits into Afghanistan. During this time, the United States and Saudi Arabia were spending billions of dollars of assistance into training rebels in Afghanistan in order to fight against the Soviets. It was during this time that bin Laden and his associate Abdullah Azzam created Al 'Qaeda (the base). The U.S. was unaware that they were providing training and secret assistance to a future enemy. The Soviets finally pulled out of Afghanistan in 1989, but bin Laden and his associate had already decided that al 'Qaeda would not dissolve. Azzam was killed later that year, and bin Laden became head of the organization. The organization remained relatively underground whilst it prepared for its fight against the West. • 4. The Role Of English On The Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia PROSPECTUS Background of the Project The role of English in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: Languages have a prominent status in all societies and in all developed and developing countries. The languages take this status because they are devices for communicating between humans. In many countries, there is more than one language that the people speak. In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for example, the Arabic language is the official language in the country, and the English language is the second language that the citizens speak. The English language has a remarkable role in various sectors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. First, the English language has an important role in the education system. Alhaisoni & Rahman (2013) state, "English language is playing an important role in both electronic and print media in Saudi Arabia" (p.114). The country has many TV stations, and one of these stations has all English content. Also, it has a radio station, which has many English programs. Finally, English has a big role in the employment system in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Al– seghayer (2012) asserts, "competence in and knowledge of English opens doors for Saudi citizens and gives the rank–and file employees" opportunity for advancement (p.2). The country has many private companies that are established by foreign people who speak the English language professionally, and they are demanding employees who speak and write English. So, English is important to employment in Saudi Arabia. History of English teaching and methodology: Teaching English in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has undergone several changes. The starting of teaching English was in 1925 (Liton, 2012). This starting point was different between public schools and private schools. First, the government established public schools, and the Ministry of Education managed them. As a result, these schools do not charge any tuition to the people who live in Saudi Arabia. Essay Political Unrest in Yemen, Terrorism, and America The U.S. has a tough stance when it comes to terrorism, especially in regions where terrorist groups look to take advantage of a people or a situation. In this paper I hope to answer questions pertaining to how the political unrest in Yemen began, how Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula were formed and what effects they have in the region as well as the implications to American policies and interests in the Horn of Africa area. Yemen is a poor and unstable state where the political and social problems are an issue that some groups will look to exploit while others have a vested interest in stability. An analysis of the past and present political, economic and social issues in Yemen reveals two major issues: The ability for terrorist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This would give way to a Republican government and the rise of current President of Yemen, Ali Abdullah Saleh in 1990. Britain controlled and occupied the south during the civil war in the north. In the 1960s the National Liberation Front (NLF) would fight the British and with Soviet influence, the southern portion of Yemen would become the first and only Marxist state in the Arab world winning independence in 1967. In 1990, the poor conditions and economic decay of the south would lead to a merger which would form what we know today as The Republic of Yemen. The former leaders in the south would find their way north in order to play a role in the newly formed government, but the current President Saleh, who would retain his position in the newly formed state, would consistently overlook them. The lack of representation and the steady decline of living conditions in southern Yemen would reach a boiling point, and, in 1994 another civil war would be fought on Yemen soil, only this time the battle was amongst the Yemeni people. • 6. Islamic Extremism And The United States For many Americans, September 11th 2001 gave insight for the first time about Islamic extremism and that even America was vulnerable to attacks on a grand scale. Aside from promoting fear among Americans, the motivations backing the attacks and the messages expressed thereafter through broadcasted beheadings, kidnappings, suicide bombings, and other attempted attacks in and outside of United States borders have attracted some American citizens to join the global jihad. In recent months, the Al Qaeda splinter group ISIS have made headlines for their recruitment of American citizens unbiased of age, gender, or ethnicity. In fact, associations to the group inside the United States are targeting individuals to join the cause. To understand why the idea of radical Islam is so appealing to individuals, it is important to first identify the history and grievances associated with the west that created the foundation for their religious ideology, ultimately leading to the only course of action being violence. With their grievances towards the West builing up long before that fateful day in September 2001, and how the opportunity of utilizing the internet and media to spread their message globally, at the click of a mouse. Political System of Saudi Arabia consists of judicial authority, executive authority and Organizational authority (Hamzawy, 2006; Matthes, et al., 2007). Traditionally, the king has the executive and legislative authorities; this means that the king has judicial power in the land (Al– Turaiqi, 2008; Albassam, 2011; Matthes, et al., 2007). • 8. Militancy in Yemen The militant groups related to al–Qaeda have gained considerable strength in the southern region of Yemen. These militant groups are reported to be stronger than the country's military, and this can be seen from the level of the expansion made by the militancy. During his regime, Ali Abdullah Saleh described Yemen as "an island in a sea of al–Qaeda" (Raghavan). In late February of 2012, a regime change happened in Yemen as Saleh stepped down from the presidency, and Hadi was elected the new president in a one candidate election. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All this has been handed down by the last president of Yemen, Saleh. There is some parallelism that exists between the rise of economic problems and the rise of support for militant groups in several Muslim nations. This is because non–affordability, starvation, and preoccupation about the future, may lead some to join or support the cause of the militant groups. Since there are a lot of institutional weaknesses in Yemen, its people can be swayed towards the opinions of these so–called Sharia following groups. For example, aside from the Abyan province, the al–Qaeda militant groups expanded to the neighboring province of Shabwa. Over there, the militant groups, i.e. Ansar al– Sharia, have succeeded in implementing stricter codes of Islamic law (Raghavan). Their expansion and success in implementing "Sharia" shows that they must have established institutions that enforce the Sharia. This is possible in a state as weak as Yemen, because its state controlled institutions lack effectiveness and efficiency due to the corruption of the government under Saleh. The militant groups discovered their opportunistic moment to spread during the Arab Spring movement to the political transition in Yemen. The protests and international support against Saleh's corrupt and ineffective regime resulted in his deposition. Despite being granted immunity, tensions between the "loyals" of Saleh, the ... The Movement Has A History By Melina Abdullah In order to spread awareness of institutionalized racism in America, Melina Abdullah discusses the foundation of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement, and how the corrupt police and governmental systems affect people of color (specifically African Americans) in her piece "The Movement Has a History". Institutionalized racism is so horrifically ingrained in American society due to the disgusting and inhumane ways of the past–– and present. The United States of America prides itself on being the land of the free; however, to juxtapose this, let us look back on the history of POC in America: the mass slaughtering and forced migration of the Native Americans, the enslavement of Africans and African Americans for centuries, the formation of the Ku Klux Klan for the purpose of terrorizing and murdering POC, the lynching and forced deportation of Hispanic people in the 1800s – 1900s, the denial of rightful citizenship of Asian Americans in the 1970s (along with Japanese Americans forcibly being placed in internment camps), antisemitism and denial of Jewish immigration into the US during the Holocaust, Islamophobia in the late 1900s – current day, the murderous marches of Neo–Nazis (and the lack of condemnation from the American government for their horrific actions), and so much more. ... As a high school student, I realized that the mustard seed I had once planted was becoming a huge tree. Therefore, in my senior year, I started looking for a major to pursue and a school to attend. Making these decisions was the hardest and most stressful period in my lifetime, but my well and perseverance to take the right steps towards a successful life and a carrier kept me going. Having the support of my parents and sisters gave me the confidence, which played an important role in achieving what I have achieved thus far and will continue to achieve in the future. For students from my country to study abroad, they need to achieve specific scores in particular tests. These tests are similar to the SAT and ACT in the United States. In Saudi, however, these tests are called Qdrat and Scholastic Achievement Admission Test (Science). These results are being used by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Creative Writing: Things Fall Apart AN ENCOUNTER WITH YEARNING "Come back, and scream as you want and break all the vases. Steal all the flowers. Come back... Just come back..." ― Khaled Juma The pale, flaky walls echoed with dismay, how do we find hope in these walls, thought Amir. His gaze was fixed at the wall in front of him. A map of the state of Kashmir hanging in the center, protected in a glass frame. "What brings you here?" The bearded man who looked like a muezzin questioned him. He was sitting on the wooden bench next to him. His deep brown eyes and a thick northern accent reminded Amir of his grandfather. But Amir's grandfather had died even before he was born. Was it a disease? Or just natural death? But if death is natural, why are we afraid of it? He wondered Amir took out a notebook from the jute bag that he was carrying, and systematically placed inside the notebook was a picture. The last remaining picture of his elder brother. "Have you seen him?" Amir asked the old man as he presented him the picture. A blue background complimented the red pullover that his brother, who resembled Amir in many ways, was wearing that October evening. "How many boys have I watched in the past twenty years?" he said, staring at the picture impassively. "For three years I've been standing outside official buildings, jails, and morgues, waiting for them to open their doors. And every door I have knocked has presented me with ten thousand photos. Sometimes I feel that every picture I watch is the same, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Those who followed him, agreed on the new faith and followed the Quran. They felt it was critical to acknowledge Mohammed as God's prophet. Problems soon arose. Leaderships were questioned and a war began. One group felt that the community should select the leadership while the other group believed that Ali, Mohammed's cousin and son–in–law, were the only leaders. The Muslim community split. • 30. Analysis Of The Umar Abdullah Johnson Theory Of Black Male... The Umar Abdullah–Johnson Theory of Black Male Alienation posits that a five–stage cycle of institutional repression exists that has effectively sent more black men to jail than it has to college. Any attempt to reverse this war against America's most misunderstood population begins with a firm analysis of the process and its origins in boyhood. Americans, including Blacks, have become so desensitized to the pain of Black boys and so expectant of their failures that their pain is often overlooked and their achievements treated like occasional glitches in a system that has successfully made Black boys a permanent underclass in this country. "But the color of a Negro 's skin makes him easily recognizable, makes him suspect, converts him into a defenseless target" (Richard Wright, Black Boy) Mis–education often begins at birth. The average first day of life for Black children is when they become subjected to self–hatred and self–hating messages about themselves. They're often getting messages about themselves that is directly or indirectly coming from the white culture. From the first day they are brought into this world, the mis–education and the self–hatred towards our babies starts right then and there. It starts to increase in preschool because in preschool, for those that decide to send their child to preschool, this will be the first time that the Black boy comes face to face with the School guidelines of the American social order where he is expected to preform to ... • 31. Women Of Saudi Women 's Rights Mohammed Ashgan Profesor Stimpson RHET 110–17 17 October 2014 Saudi Women's Rights Should women be allowed to drive cars in Saudi Arabia? On the first page of the first chapter of everything's an argument, the author states about "It (The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) is the only country in the world, which forbids women to drive." The first thing one should know when discussing this issue is that the country of Saudi Arabia operates under strict "sharia" laws that are an interpretation of Sunni Islam, so they do not follow conventional human rights when dealing with women in the country. This is an Islamic country that believes in upholding its religion and forces its people to adhere to teachings of the Quran. Judges face challenges when hearing cases because they have to follow the interpretation of Sunni Islam when determining legality of a case. In other words; Religion is the law. However, the Global Gender Gap report ranked them among the last 5 countries out 134 that have gender parity. Does this mean that Islam is a religion which is bias to males and oppressive of females? But how can that be if all other muslim countries allow their women to drive? Their seems to be an inconsistency that makes this gender equality issue is highly controversial. Women should and will be allowed to drive cars in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's near future simply because there are no valid religious or cultural reasons for them not to. They also deserve to be rid of many constraints and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Abdullah 's Team Accused The Second Round Of The Election... Abdullah's team accused both the IEC and Ashraf Ghani's team in an "industrial scale" fraud and argued that the second round of the election was stolen (Latifi 2014). They further added to their argument that the eastern and southern regions of Afghanistan were hotbeds of occupancy by the Taliban and people were too afraid for their lives to come out and vote. In Khost 97.09% and in Paktia 91.9% votes were casted in favor of Ashraf Ghani (IEC website 2014). Abdullah's team argued that that the eastern and southern provinces compared to the north and central provinces should have less percentage of voter turnout due to the security reasons in these parts of the country. However, the eastern and southern regions of the Afghanistan where Taliban were most active, these regions had voted in large numbers compared to regions where there had none or low security threats. However, Ashraf Ghani's team argued that the high turnout in these regions were due to their excellent campaign strategies and the help from tribal leaderships on these regions (Trofimov 2014). Tensions over the result of 2014 election produced an ambiguous situation that had no obvious solution in the first sight. In the beginning, the two rival parties did not consider other options to end their dispute except declaring themselves as winners of the presidential race. The situation was so intense that each party blamed the other as the cheater and warned of the consequences over the election fraud (Bose 2014). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Summary Of ' I 'm Abdullah ' A young man, around his twenties in jeans and a travel–worn jacket worked his way down the aisle of the classroom looking for an empty seat. As he wrestled his backpack through the seats he finally saw an empty chair and asked a young bearded man wearing a brimless white cap if the seat was available. The guy looked up from the book he was reading and said, "No not at all? You can sit down if you like." "Thank you, I almost thought that I might end up sitting in the floor, the class is completely full. My name is Alex by the way." "I'm Abdullah." Trying to gather his things to make extra room for Alex, Abdullah closed his book holding it reverently in his hands. The title was engraved in gold lettering and flowing in Arabic script. • 36. History of Malaysian Cooperation A. Case Study Tense ambivalence under Mahathir During Mahathir's premiership (1981–2003), Malaysia enjoyed a cooperative relationship with the US on economic and security fronts. Politically, however, there has been much tension between the two states. On the economic front, the US has been one of Malaysia's most important trading partners. In Mahathir's final year as prime minister, the volume of two–way trade amounted to US$34,352.5 million , with the balance of trade in Malaysia's favour. Additionally, Malaysia has traditionally relied on US foreign investments, particularly during the former state's rapid economic mobilisation from the 1970s to the end of the 1990s. Malaysia, a former colonial state which inherited a dwindling, natural resource–dependent economy from the British, achieved unprecedented rate of growth under Mahathir's developmental strategy. Malaysia's economic development achieved its zenith in the 1990s, hailed by the World Bank as an `economic miracle' in the developing world. During this course of development, the US played a pivotal role via its foreign investments. For instance, US investments in Malaysia tripled between 1990 and 2000, from US$1.5 billion to US$6 billion, of which 57% was in manufacturing, 21% in petroleum and natural resources, and 22% in services and related industries. • 37. Mahatma Gandhi And Osama Bin Laden Essay History has shown many times that a single human being is capable of vast influence among people and/or a society, especially for religious purposes. Generally, when people think about influential leaders tied to a religion, they think of the great leaders that strived for peace and equality for all, such as Mahatma Gandhi. Justly, the big religious figures who were not so great for the world are often not given any credit for being the influential, strong leaders that they were, such as Osama Bin Laden. Obviously no one wants to give props to someone who negatively impacted the world but many times these evil leaders are very similar to their opposites. Morals must be disregarded to make this comparison but it is worth making. As previously mentioned, the comparison going to be made is of polar opposites; Mahatma Gandhi and Osama Bin Laden. They both greatly influenced and affected the world based on actions they took because of their religious beliefs. One practiced Ahimsa, who preached non–violence, and the other one Jihad, who fought a war with non–believers. But which of their two messages was more successful; non–violence or violence? Not successful in regards to humanity or morals, but in influence, leadership, and how long their message resonated. Both religious figures will be evaluated from their beginnings in order to see all their influences and intentions, as well as the situations they were put in that pushed them to make the moves the did. • 39. The Rights Of Women And Education A sufficient education is something that Westerner's like myself, have taken for granted for a long time. It's easy to, in all honesty, because we have been raised in a society in which education has been held at the utmost importance. In the United States women are held at an equal level with men, we've fought for this sense of equality for several years and unfortunately, not all women across the world have had that same success. Women from other countries do not have half of the rights that we do here in the United States, and this is something that we seem to never really think about. Saudi Arabia is just one of the many countries around the world in which the women do not have as many rights as men do. Being a feminist at heart with a hunger for education, it piqued my interest to research the rights of women and education in Saudi Arabia. If I'm being honest, I had expected it to be much worse than it is, yet it could be so much better at the same time. Saudi women should have every right to educate themselves in any aspect they want, and though they have fought their way to gaining some leverage, there are still necessary steps that need to be taken. Saudi Arabia is a country in Southeast Asia with a population of approximately twenty–seven million people. Of that twenty–seven million people, it is estimated that 30% of them are migrant workers.
