81. Future Algeria: Infrastructure US$11.2 billion Highway (2005-2010) will link with Morocco and Tunisia and will link Annaba, Constantine, Setif, Algiers, Oran and Tlemcen. Following the demographic explosion of the town of Algiers, a subway was considered at the end of the Seventies. Work began in 1983, but was slowed down because of financial difficulties and of the insecurity in the Nineties. The first phase will be ready at 2008-2009 Beni Haroun dam in Mila.
82. Future Algeria: Boughezoul City (2010) A gigantic city to shift several million people away from the overcrowded northern coastal zone. The government said it wants to re-house some three million people in Boughezoul to work in the "service sector, advanced technology and scientific research".
83. Future Algeria: Bab Ezzouar Business Quarter A modern urban development project with ideal communications (motorway, railway station, bus and tram station). The district also offers a 17 acre park. The site is not far from an 85 acre industrial zone, and includes a university campus with 40'000 students and numerous blocks of flats.
84. Future Algeria: Grand Mosque “ Highest Minaret in the world”, 300 meters high. As of 2008, the site is ready for construction
