2. Throughout this slide I will be analysing magazine adverts that will be advertising
Jhene Aiko this artists music is of the same genre of which I had originally chosen
to do my music video on, in conclusion my music video will be an R&B music video.
As I go through this presentation I will be looking further into the R&B genre,
target audience, the conventions, connotations as well as denotation, lastly I will be
looking at the effect it has on the advert.

3. As I look at this advert the first thing I notice is the name Jhene
Aiko in big blue and orange with a white outline stating the artists
name, due to the text being big it would instantly stand out
making it easy for the target audience to identify which artist the
advertisement is about. On this advert we are shown a woman
whom is standing on her own, as she’s alone we could instantly see
she is a solo artist. The way the artists name is displayed stands
out and seems like a common way to get your attention, these
letters look bold and as if they are stating a point, the boldness
helps present the idea that she is a solo artist as well as an R&B.
The way she is dressed could be a giveaway, most R&B artists
dress casually however due to the fact she is at the beach she is
wearing a white tank top with a black bikini underneath.
The effect of this advert is quite dark although has plenty of warm
colours to even out well with the blue ocean she is standing in front
of. The advert editor had purpously put the date on the top left
hand corner to so that it doesn’t interfier with the artists image.
When looking at the date he had made ‘ferbuary’ and ‘Sunday’
smaller than the number 26 as it could be that when this advert
was released it was already February so you could instantly look at
the date and would know straight away. Looking further intothis I
notice that the time the doors open is in smaller writing so that
when you have decided you want to go its extra information to
know when you have to go.

4. As you can see the main focus of attention is standing
on a beach wearing basic beach attire, she had her
hair down and it looks rather frizzy which could be
her natural hair, she is wearing heavy makeup which
leads our main focus to her dark eyes this look differs
from the look most artists go for when advertising
their music making her unique and one of a kind, the
ideal audience would see this as interesting as being
the same as everyone else is found to be boring
therefore that would be another reason for people to
go to this event. This makes the advert more
noticeable leading to the future purchase of the artists
album.
