opportunities to make a positive contribution to our company, clients, industry and society.
Monthly Digital Challenge
Summary
Change is difficult to achieve. The best method is hands-on experience. Combine that with competition and
the learning curve gets steeper.
Many talents believe they are not digi-savvy. We wanted to prove them wrong. GroupM Interaction set up
Monthly Digital Challenge to give everyone an opportunity to showcase their skills.
The talents had to complete tasks (posting on Facebook, Googling, Tweeting…) to score points for
themselves and their agency.
A year later, we can confidently say that at least 81% of all GroupM talents know digital and therefore could
plan for it, as compared to 30% in its launch.

Key Objectives
To enhance our talents’ digital skillsets
To provide an opportunity for our talents to get hands-on
experience and showcase their skills
To provide a platform for talents to explore new digital
platforms in a fun and interesting way
How It Works
• Two tasks related to social & digital platforms are sent out every month to
our talents
• Those who participate send in their entries by a deadline, and earn points
based on accuracy & creativity. Their individual points contribute to their
overall agency scoring.
• Every month, there will be 3 winners and 1 Agency of the Month.
• Monthly winners are selected based on the highest points.
• Behind these tasks are a different pair each month, chosen from the digital
team to come up with the challenges, tabulate the scores and select winners

Get talents to join the internal GroupM Facebook group & Twitter account, and check-in to the GroupM office via
Foursquare
March
Share memorable YouTube videos on Facebook, discover & Like Facebook brand pages, and identify ads on
Google
April
Identify different ads on Facebook and share interesting articles from digital news sites/blogs on the internal
GroupM Facebook group
May
Learn to find directions/shortest routes on Google Maps; check in to Facebook with a photo upload and tag
colleagues
June Explore Google+ and highlight one unique feature they love
July
Explore the common lounging areas of GroupM (library & pantry) and promote it on Facebook with pictures
August Get into the Olympic spirit and send funny moments (pics & tweets) on the Games
September Test how well they know social platforms by guessing the icons and learn about their functions
October
Participants describe what makes a video go viral and we test their popular culture knowledge on internet
memes
November
Gearing up for the holiday season, participants create e-cards injected with humour share it on FB; recommend
their favourite brand pages on Pinterest
December
Share photos of “A day in your agency life” on Instagram; tying in with the festive mood in the agency,
participants send in their best Christmas-themed photos taken with colleagues.
