A factory pollutes riu Llobregat
Yesterday morning there was a chemical spilt in riu Llobregat,
Catalonia, Spain. The ACA (Agència Catalana de l’Aigua) is not going to
give water from this river to the
families in BCN until the water is
totally clean. They are working
to solve the problem. During this
time, they are using water from
the subterranean water supplies.
In the last 10 years, this has happened twelve different times. People are
very worried because they need water for a lot of actions in their
everyday lives.
“I’m scared” -a woman said, “Because I doubt of the quality of the water.
I drink it, I cook with it.... it’s horrible, because it could be harmful!”.
A factory that is treating metal materials
threw all the chemicals to the river. The
amount of metal in the water increased a
lot and the owner of the factory is going
to pay from 3.000 € to 10.000 €,
depending on the number of days the
water cannot be used.
