Thanks to Fab Lab Benfica, I could present the Future Learning Unit Research Group during the Educational Distributed Designs Webinars.

25. MASTER IN DESIGN FOR EMERGENT FUTURES
The Master in Design for Emergent Futures is an immersive
learning program that focuses on Barcelona city as an
experimental playground, in which design can be used to
understand, develop, test and speculate interventions that respond
to the wicked problems of our time.

26. DISTRIBUTED DIGITAL FABRICATION COURSE
The Fab Academy is a globally distributed educational and locally
applied model led by Neil Gershenfeld of MIT's Center for Bits and
Atoms and is based on MIT's rapid prototyping course: How to
make (almost) anything. The Fab Academy began as a CBA
outreach project, and has since spread to Fab labs around the
world. The program provides advanced digital fabrication
instruction for students through a unique, hands-on curriculum,
and access to technology tools and resources.

Fabricademy is a transdisciplinary course that focuses on the
development of new technologies applied in the textile industry,

IN AN OPEN DIGITAL WORLD
DOIT is a European programme that aims to empower children
and young people from 6 to 16 years old together with educators
to develop entrepreneurial skills and become social innovators in
an open digital world. Applying open innovation methods, digital
co-creation tools and collaborative skills to face society's problems.

PHOTONICS ENHANCED FAB LABS SUPPORTING THE NEXT
REVOLUTION IN DIGITALIZATION
The concept is based on the combination of the photonic world
with the growing creative ecosystem of the Fab Labs. PHABLABS
4.0 will link 13 European photonics institutes and STEM-oriented
organizations with the Fab Lab participants, and will offer 33
photonics workshops, 11 photonics challenges and photonics
toolkits designed for three different target groups.
34. DIGITAL SOCIAL INNOVATION FOR VULNERABLE YOUNG
PEOPLE
This project aims to make the most vulnerable population of the
city (children and adolescents) understand the phenomenon of
digital transformation that is underway in our city and be part of it.
Through the intervention in three socio-educational centres in the
city, the aim is to develop a pilot test to empower a group of
adolescents and turn them into the ambassadors of the maker
movement among this population and the neighbours of the
neighbourhood.

35. TOWARDS A CHANGE MAKER EDUCATIONAL COMMUNITY
Project of action in the areas of school transformation, impact on
the environment and entrepreneurship through culture and
education maker. Online and offline training, support,
accompaniment, conceptualisation and implementation of
FabLabs Schools.
Experiences already made: training 70 teachers from all over
Spain, transformation in the network of La Salle Schools, Nazareth
Schools (Sant Andreu de Badalona), American School, Benjamin
Franklin and Our Dream School-Learning Life.

A pre-acceleration program in creative entrepreneurship aimed at

aids in the tooling and framing of student learning.

38. EDUCATION AND MAKER CULTURES FOR INSTITUTIONS
This project aims to bring Maker education closer to culturally
aware citizens through activities and training for museum
teachers.
Past experiences at the Centre d'Arts Santa Monica and active
since 2018 in CosmoCaixa of the Fundació La Caixa with which we
are preparing the activities for the year 2020 ( Night of the
Museums, Exhibition 3D printing and Summer Camp Summer
2020 ).

The hands-on activities are better valued.
Textiles and Wearables are areas that
keep the interest of girls and boys at the
same level.
The food is an unbeatable thread to build
narratives and activities.
Having a common element such as (ice
cream, which everyone knows) to
contextualize the use of technology
makes reassure and minimize the fears of
the new.
The second day of activity in the fablab
worked better, probably because it had
fewer moments of reflection and because
the participants were already adapted
and knew/visualized the final goal.
