It is about creating an atmosphere of / towards
success in class among our students.
We do this by:
Identifying problem students / spots.
Modifying / channeling their behavior.
Involving everybody in the process of
success.
CHAPTER 10: GROUPING
STUDENTS.
Grouping students helps to deliver a class successfully.Pair-work : It increases
speaking time
Group work: teacher
focuses on group needs.
Whole class: sense of
belonging.
Separate tables: easy to
organize.
ACTIVITIES
 First: create a list of
problem situations a
teacher can find in a
classroom. (Pair
group)
 Put categories on the
wall. Ss identify
themselves with one
problem category.
 Role-play.
 Sitting/grouping map.
 Group discussion.
 Create an activity and
tell how you would
group your students.
Support your answer.

Managing for success

  • 2. CHAPTER 9: MANAGING FOR SUCCESS. It is about creating an atmosphere of / towards success in class among our students. We do this by: Identifying problem students / spots. Modifying / channeling their behavior. Involving everybody in the process of success.
  • 3. CHAPTER 10: GROUPING STUDENTS. Grouping students helps to deliver a class successfully.Pair-work : It increases speaking time Group work: teacher focuses on group needs. Whole class: sense of belonging. Separate tables: easy to organize.
  • 4. ACTIVITIES  First: create a list of problem situations a teacher can find in a classroom. (Pair group)  Put categories on the wall. Ss identify themselves with one problem category.  Role-play.  Sitting/grouping map.  Group discussion.  Create an activity and tell how you would group your students. Support your answer.
