3. INTRODUCTION
• Optimum condition : high environmental temp, low
humidity, good ventilation
• Once the changes are complete, the body will remain
in that condition indefinitely
• No growth of microorganism

4. HOW DOES IT OCCURS ?
The natural process occur in
extremely dry environment that
allows fast dehydration of
tissues, simultaneously slowing
down, or inhibit decomposition
of bacteria and other
microorganism.

5. HOW DOES IT LOOKS ?
• Skin is dark and tightly adherent
to skeletal frame
• Brownish discoloration
• Parchment – like appearance
• No foul smelling

6. WHEN IT CAN OCCUR ?
The time required for complete mummification can’t be
precisely stated but it takes several weeks to months,
depending on the size of the body and atmospheric
conditions
