The A to Z Gymnastics is an exciting new resource that is available for coaches and teachers. It has been developed
alongside the PE & School Sport scheme, the activities have been designed to consolidate and further skills already
learnt in the curriculum. The A to Z Gymnastics will help coaches, teachers and others to provide a well structured
progressive programme for the teaching and coaching for children across four levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold and
Platinum, All of which show the development of a number of skills. The A to Z can be used as a starting point for all
gymnasts, and will enable them to progress, through learning and perfecting basic skills and understanding.

It can be integrated throughout all disciplines of gymnastics and therefore can be used by all organisations in Wales
such as Schools, Leisure Centres and is perfect for Gymnastics Clubs. It has been designed so that it can be
challenging for the children allowing them to gain a great feeling of success when they pass each level.

Alongside leisure centre and club gymnastic activity, the A to Z is ideal for extra curricular activity within schools and
forms an integral part of the Network Approach to developing gymnastics in Schools. Further information on the Network
Approach can be found on this website.

In this operation manual, you will find information and ideas about how you can best use the A-Z resource, building a
program that will give the most effective gymnastics experience for your pupils.

Whilst navigating through this manual, we recommend that you begin
by reading all of the red boxes from the menu as they will best give
you an understanding of the A-Z program.

The green boxes contain all the necessary purchase, download and
contact information that you will need to in order to run your
                                                     program.

The blue boxes act as navigation keys, through the operation manual.

Schools have the option to pick and
choose sections of the award level that
they would like to deliver. For
instance, there may be time or
                                     equipment constraints that won’t
enable all sections to be covered.

                                     We recommend the body preparation
Module 4 Module 3 sections as a good place to start.

  • 5. Introduction Menu The A to Z Gymnastics is an exciting new resource that is available for coaches and teachers. It has been developed alongside the PE & School Sport scheme, the activities have been designed to consolidate and further skills already learnt in the curriculum. The A to Z Gymnastics will help coaches, teachers and others to provide a well structured progressive programme for the teaching and coaching for children across four levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum, All of which show the development of a number of skills. The A to Z can be used as a starting point for all gymnasts, and will enable them to progress, through learning and perfecting basic skills and understanding. It can be integrated throughout all disciplines of gymnastics and therefore can be used by all organisations in Wales such as Schools, Leisure Centres and is perfect for Gymnastics Clubs. It has been designed so that it can be challenging for the children allowing them to gain a great feeling of success when they pass each level. Alongside leisure centre and club gymnastic activity, the A to Z is ideal for extra curricular activity within schools and forms an integral part of the Network Approach to developing gymnastics in Schools. Further information on the Network Approach can be found on this website. Next
