Men know the pinnacle of greatness is in two names, God and Jesus Christ.
No man attempts to exhibit force by saying, “ByBuddha I will do this or
that...,”
and no one says, “Mohammed damn it.”
The reason is, Buddhaand Mohammed have no power.
17) Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the
immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope
set before us:
Immutable- no mute button
Two Immutable Things- Heb 6:14 “Saying” His word; Heb 6:17 “by an oath”
His Word.
Strong Consolation- Superior Comfort, Relief
Hope set before us- we onlyhope for that on which we have set our affections;
it is set before us if you cant see it you are looking the wrongdirection.

19) Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which
entereth into that within the veil;
God made a solemn promise to Abraham which seemed, humanly, impossible.
Nevertheless, Abraham relied on the promise, and found,
what God’s people find repeatedly,
the impossible with men is possible with God.
To believe God’s word brings hope.
The more confident the faith the more assured the hope.
Both reveal their real value, when subjected to a stormysea.
Acts 27:40-41
40) And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the
sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made
toward shore.
41) And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the
forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with
the violence of the waves.
7. Many want Christ for nothing more than safety from their spiritual peril.
Ezek 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die…
Christ our sanctuary, is a provision for present enjoyment, and an inspiration to our
hope.
1Chr 22:19
19) Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God…
We have an anchor.
You can feel an anchor when the line strains under a gale or a tide.
A Danforth anchor will dig deeper every time a strain is put on it.
A little boy was out in a field holding a ball of string in his hand. A passerby said,
“Little boy, what are you doing?”
He said, “I’m flying my kite.”
The man looked up and saw nothing in the air; the clouds were at a low level and no
kite was visible. “I don’t see how that can be,” said the man, “I don’t see any kite up
there.”

We know what’s on the other end of the line: “the Forerunner.”
