1. Anxiety Relief with Hypnotherapy
Anxiety is usually associated with words like fear, nervousness and worry. That’s because these
are some of the symptoms of disorders that are generally known as anxieties. These affect a
person’s behavior and can be very unsettling or debilitating depending on the degree of
anxiousness he or she has. Hypnotherapy for anxiety is one of the most recent methods used by
professionals on patients to overcome their anxieties.
To fear and to worry about something are easily justifiable. These are just normal for people to
feel. But when fear and worry starts interfering with a one’s ability to sleep and the like, it is
already considered anxiety. In short, one has anxiety issues when one’s reaction is not
proportional with what the situation calls for.
Anxiety disorders can be classified into more specific types. One is called the Generalized
Anxiety Disorder (GAD). A person with GAD worries about almost everything excessively but
cannot pinpoint a specific fear when asked. Another type is called a panic disorder. A person with
panic disorder often experiences sudden panic attacks that will lead to several physical
manifestations such as nausea, dizziness, shaking and even difficulty in breathing. The attacks
may be as brief as a few minutes but may also last longer for hours. The attacks may lead the
patient to have drastic behavioral changers just for him or her to avoid expected future attacks.
One of the most popular types of anxiety is a phobia. A person with a phobia is someone who has
an irrational fear of an object or event. It differs from GAD simply because the patient can
identify a specific cause for his or her worries. An example is anthropophobia or fear of people.
A person who is an anthropophobia may acknowledge that his or her fear of society is irrational
but he or she still won’t be able to control his or her anxiousness.
Because these disorders are behavioral or emotional problems, they can only be overcome
through the human mind. Hypnotherapy for anxiety is a great solution to these problems.
Because the patient will be in a more vulnerable state during hypnosis, he or she will be open to
suggestions and behavioral alterations. The patient will be more concentrated on the goal to
overcome the fear; he or she will become more strong-willed once he or she has snapped out of
the hypnosis. The practitioner of hypnotherapy can easily introduce to the patient the idea that
his or her fear is unnecessary and that there really is nothing to worry about. Through the power
of suggestion under the influence of hypnosis, one can overcome anxiety faster than ever.
