INTERNATIONAL ENERGY RESOURCES
             PRESENTS
   THE IER ENERGY SAVER (ES)!

 Protecting, Preserving & Improving the
              Environment
             International Energy
                  Resources
The Need for the IER (ES)

•In the 21st century “Going Green” has
  become a corporate responsibility
•With the rising cost of doing business,
      Energy Efficiency is a must
•Help meet the social requirements of
“Being Green” and reap the financial
                savings
The Problem
• Electric Motors use more than half of all electricity
• Electricity Costs:
   – 1960’s .019/kwh
   – 1970’s energy crisis .044/kwh
   – 2008 .10+ /kwh
• Most A/C Induction motors operate at 80% efficiency
• NASA research proved that substantial savings could be
made on the running costs of A/C Induction motors
The Power Supply Dilemma
• The adequacy of North America’s Electricity system will
decline unless changes are made soon…
…demand for electricity is expected to increase over the
next ten years by 20% in the U.S., but confirmed power
capacity will increase by only 10%
-NERC (North American Electric Reliability Council)

“Over $16 billion dollars of electricity is unusable energy,
  but billable in the US.”
                    - U.S. Dept. of Energy
20% increase
in demand
with 10%
increase in
supply
How the Utility Company & the
Environment Benefit
• Enhancement of the capacity of the
  existing electrical systems
• Power supplied to more customers without
the generation or acquisition of additional
  power plants.
• Less fossil fuel being used to generate
  power
• Less dependency on foreign oil
The Unique Energy Savings with the
                IER (ES)
• The Patented diagnostic device & methodology
determines to an exact science how much capacitance is
required to bring each inductive load to unity
• Optimizing is precisely accomplished on each inductive
    load in minutes
• The pre-engineered customized systems are assembled
from modular components based on sizing results
• Installation is fast and simple
• Power savings are immediate and can be up to 25%
• Realize a rapid return on investment (often 24 months or
    less)
IER (ES)
• Innovative, unique & Patented *
• U.S. Manufactured
• NASA Tested and used
• U.S. Government certified
• UL Listed CSA Approved
• Cleaner & Greener / RoHS Certified
• Reduces the amount of non-productive current in your
existing electrical system, resulting in a significant
    reduction in power consumption costs
• Thousands of installations worldwide
• 5 year warranty / 12 year on Residential
          *Methodology & Apparatus
How does the IER Energy Saver
         (ES) work?
• The IER (ES) stores the reactive power to create the electromagnetic field
(EMF) around the inductive windings of a motor

• As motors operate, reactive power is “pushed” and “pulled” to and from the
(ES) by the motor at 60 cycles per second

• The IER (ES) stores & releases to motors what they need to function more
   efficiently

• Electricity reclaimed and recycled by the (ES) would normally be pushed
back through the power distribution lines

• The IER (ES) reclaims, stores, recycles and supplies Reactive power to
   inductive loads
Other Benefits
• The IER (ES) improves the efficiency of the electrical
system & the kW capacity is increased
• Maintains quality voltage levels to your system with less
voltage drops especially long runs of cable
• Reduces the harmful effects from the EMF’s
• Less power system losses in your distribution system
• Reduces the heat on wires and motors
• Decreases premature failure of motors and other
    inductive equipment
• Motors run cooler and are more efficient
• Increases the life of the motors
• Reduces maintenance costs
Causes of Low Power Factor

• Inductive loads are usually the major portion of
the power consumed in commercial buildings &
industrial complexes – 80% or more
• Types of Inductive loads (reactive Power)
    – Transformers
    – Motors
    – Compressors
    – Fluorescent lighting with T-12 ballasts
    – Older style high intensity discharge lighting (HID)
    – Lightly loaded motors are wasteful and result in lower
        power factor
Power Factor Correction
• A 20th Century Technology
• Installed on the line side near the main service
• Main purpose is for the utility company to “clean up”
their “dirty Power” and saves the electric company
    money

Power factor Optimization
• A 21st Century Technology
• Installed on the demand side, close to the equipment
• Reduces amperage kWH (slows the meter)
• Saves the customer money
• Reduce or eliminate Power Factor Correction penalties
Why you should optimize
           Power Factor?
• Reducing Amperage & kW usage, directly
  reflects dollar savings
• Reduce the monthly “demand charge”
• Eliminate the primary power factor
  surcharge penalty
  – Utilities usually charge customers an
additional fee (up to 25% more) when their
power factor is less than 0.85 (PFC
    equipment)
Installing the IER (ES) Units

• 2 Types of installations with the IER (ES)
Panel Mount – accumulation of smaller
    inductive loads
    • Single Phase panel mount
    • Three Phase panel mount

     Equipment Mount – Larger individual
       inductive loads
Return on Investment

Depends On:
• Age of Equipment
• Percentage of PF optimization
• kW per hour charged
• Run time of inductive loads
• Panel mount or equipment mount
• Amount of equipment and labor needed
  for optimization

How the process works!

• Initial meeting to discuss technology and
  application for your facility.
  – This is primarily a discussion that lets you find out
who we are and what we provide.
  – During this meeting we will gather information about
your facility. This is called a pre assessment review
    (PAR)
  – This information is used to deliver to you an estimate
for us to complete an energy analysis of the facility.
Energy Analysis
• An Energy analysis is preformed by a specially trained and licensed
   electrician/s
    – Our team will conduct checks of all relevant electrical panels and
      individual electric motors
    – Information that we are gathering is related to Voltage, Current, Power,
      and Power Factor
    – After the initial readings are taken our patented equipment is hooked
      up to optimize each load.
    – Often times the electrician is confronted with situations in your facility
that need immediate attention, this information might not have been
discovered until to late, had we not been there. We will immediately
      notify you if this occurs.
    – The analysis process is not typically disruptive to the work force and all
of our personnel conduct themselves in a professional manner.
Energy Analysis

• Upon completion of the analysis all data is
forwarded to the I.E.R. corporate office for
    review.
• The review process consist of data obtained,
special notes from the electrician and
parameters of actually installing the equipment.
• The data will now be compiled into a proposal
    for customer review.
WHY NOW?

• Conditioned power can increase the life
of all electric motors in the facility
  leading to reduced maintenance costs.
• Up to 25% SAVINGS realized
  immediately upon installation.
• Environmentally responsible
organizations are leading the charge in
  Protecting, Preserving & Improving our
  environment.
