PERSONAL STATEMENT
I would say I am a sporty guy because I get involved with various sports which include football, running, swimming, cricket and more.
Three times a week I will go running either with a friend or on my own, I play football on the weekend not for a team but I play it
with friends at the local field, I go swimming on a Sunday. I draw every night either for college or as a hobby but I like drawing as it’s
interesting and fun to draw. I socialise with my friends quite a lot as I see them most of the time either at college or after college
most days, seeing them after college I get to do things that I like to do like go to the cinema. I work at store in Manchester centre
called Primark in this store I work as a retail operative on the tills serving customers and helping their needs, for example to find a
certain type of clothes or taking them to customer service. I used to have a paper round which I did for 5 years getting up at 5 O’clock
every morning 6 days a week Monday to Saturday, my round was the longest round with 45 houses that I had to deliver the
newspapers to them and had to be done before I started high school/college. During the summer I volunteer for a summer project
called NCS which stands for National Citizen Service, this summer project is held over the course of four weeks, weeks 1 & 2 are spent
in a residential weeks 3 & 4 are a social action project. On the weeks 1 and 2 the groups of young people ranging from ages from 16-
18 are put through teamwork and ice-breaker tasks to get them working as a team hopefully building them skills for the future.
Weeks 3 and 4 the groups are making up a social action project that will benefit the community it could be anything that they will put
together for example a family fun day or going to an old peoples home or cleaning a graveyard these are some of the things that
some of the past groups have chosen as their social action project. The skills that I am good at is communication with the public also
with this I have the confidence to do that. Also with the work that I have done such as the NCS and Primark I have developed skills
such as tem-work honesty punctuality, idea generating and problem solving these help me get through the days.
