Hospital pharmacy is the health care
service, which comprises the art, practice,
and profession of choosing, preparing,
storing, compounding, and dispensing
medicines and medical devices, advising
patients, doctors, nurses and other
healthcare professionals on their safe,
effective and efficient use.

Hospital pharmacist was the first recognised
representative of Pharmacy Profession
The world's oldest known prescriptions were recorded
on a clay tablet in Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq),
ca. 2400 BC. As per known history the first pharmacy
was established in Baghdad in 754 AD,
Pennsylvania Hospital appointed the First Hospital
Pharmacist in 1752 Jonathan Roberts was the
pharmacist.
In Pakistan while exploring the history of the
development of the pharmacy profession, it
discovered that the late Sheikh Nabi Buksh was
the first to start a general store with a pharmacy in
1863.
