2. CONCRETE:-
It is a Mixture of cement, sand and course aggregate, which can
be poured into formwork & form a hard structure like stone.
Types of concrete:-
 R.C.C (reinforced cement concrete)
 R.M.C (ready mix concrete)
 P.C.C(plain cement concrete)
 Green concrete

3. INTRODUCTION:-
 Green concrete is a revolutionary topic in history of
concrete industry, was invented by Denmark.
 Green concrete is a type of concrete which is much like
a conventional concrete but the manufacturing
process of such concrete require minimum amount of
energy & cause least harm to environment.

4. WHAT IS GREEN CONCRETE:-
 A concrete that made with concrete waste & use less
energy in the production & produce less CO2 than
conventional concrete
 This is also called eco-friendly concrete & reduce
environment impact.
for eg. Energy saving,CO2 emission, concrete waste.

5. Why green concrete:-
 The main ingredient of concrete is cement and it
consists of lime stone(CaCo3).
 During manufacturing, the ingredient are heated to
about 1000°C. during this process CO2 is driven off.
 Approx 1 kg of cement release 900 gm of CO2 in
atmosphere.
Therefore, green concrete came into existance to
reduce the emission of CO2.

6. MATERIALS FOR GREEN CONCRETE:-
Locally available and reusable/recyclable :-

 Recycled concrete aggregate
 Blast furnace slag
 Recycled glass aggregate
 Manufactured sand
 Fly ash

7. CEMENTITOUS MATERIAL- FLY ASH
• Fly ash is by- product produce during the operation
coal fired power plant. The finely divided particle from
exhaust collected in electro static precipitator.
these particle called fly ash.
• Utilization of fly ash as a part of replacement of
cement & hence reduce the emission of CO2.

8. Use of good quality of fly ash in concrete has shown
remarkable improvement ,especially:-
