Synopsis
Maintenance & works Engg.
• Started my career as Engineer trainee in jan.1972 with M/S Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd.Tiruchirapalli
T.N.As Maintenance Engineer managed spares planning , Scheduling of Preventive maintenance of
about 500 machines in the plant. Arranged spares, industrial hand tools, pneumatic and electric tools,
machine tools accessories etc. for entire plant. Intimately associated with identification, preparation of
proposals for replacements, initiation of indents and scrutiny of offers for capital equipment .
• As Sr. Maint. Engineer executed Preventive and break down maintenance of precision and tool room
machines, machines used in manufacture of industrial valves safely valve, well head and X mas tree
etc .Organised shifting, installation and commissioning of heat treatment shop , precision machines etc.
• As Sr. Manager overseen operation and maintenance of Air cooling, Air-conditioning and refrigeration
equipment in Bhopal plant.
Prodution,Production Planning,Quality control and Quality assurance
• Overseen manufacture of industrial valves, safely valves, well-head and X mas tree equipment
.Intimately associated with Engineering and production planning, tooling , quality control and quality
assurance and procurement of materials for the manufacture of valves for about 2 years in Tiruchirapalli
plant .Safety valves were successfully manufactured under collaboration agreement whereas Full bore
valves ,wellhead & X mas tree were initially developed in-house and subsequently manufactured with
the collaboration arrangement.
• As Additional General Manager overseen production of Large Electricals Motors .Daily planning,
monthly/quarterly production planning, tooling planning ,Preparation of strategic plan, broad
objectives, balanced scorecard and annual budget was undertaken .Turnover was achieved as per
production schedules within the cost/annual budget utilising the available capacity of the plant.
HR/Personnel Management
• Spearheaded the Compliances as per factory statutes; liasioning with statutory bodies for factory statute
compliances, classification of contract workers and evolving of guidelines for engagement of contract
labourer in works contracts. Implemented various HR schemes and e map performance system. SAP-
HR was made “go live” as per schedule.
Procurement & Vendor Development.
• As Addl.GM entered into long term contracts for offloading of fabricated, Machined, Insulation items
etc to ancillaries in Bhopal and other places. Many new rate contract were also entered for long term
supplies and controlling the costs.
• Gap areas were identified through interaction with the departments and expression of interests were
issued for development and registration of new vendors as per the guidelines of the company. Reverse
auctions was resorted in many cases to bring down the cost and infuse competition. Material issue to
vendors and its accountal was computerised.
Finance & Accounts
• Over seen preparation of operating results for Transformer division and closely associated with
company auditors for sales accounting, Cost accounting and stores accounting of the transformer
division as Sr. manager(Fin.).Scrutinised the high value proposals for finanacial concurrence as Dy. G
M( Fin). Also scrutinised proposal for new vendor registrations from financial angle before
registration.
Finally I feel confident that I can undertake the responsibilities of the job as I have excellent professional
knowledge & Technical know-how in Mechanical Engineering and working knowledge of electrical Engg .
Also excellent oral and written technical /commercial in English and Hindi language . Additionally I have
very good working knowledge of PC.
